Oooh, the cream certainly has risen to the top with certain areas of the world. Do a search for Babbage Steampunk and it should come right up. It is like 5 or 6 whole sims strung with an excellent underwater Bioshock/40,000 leagues under the sea portion.
Another level or so, and this whole thing will change. I've got a faction-specific trenchcoat, a military helmet, new guns, boots, and thigh/arm/wrist armor I can use at armor use 75.
I have no idea how anyone would come to be wearing this in a wasteland but I still love it. Duel long-barrelled silver revolvers? Okay, I'm in.

I never was all that fond of the games I have played where you are a small race that spends a lot of time in an armored machine. I liked the machines, but there were never boarding animations or anything explaining the arrival of said machine.

*bloop* you disappear and control said machine.
They need to show that thing being air dropped, and you getting into it.
Damnit. It is a small thing, but it adds some atmosphere.
I pretty much wanted to play RF Online soley for this. Unfortunately you only got one at level 30 and it's a generic shitty grindfest the entire way. Not to mention paying out the ass for upkeep and buying one.

RF online was one of the big offenders on that. It would have been awesome if at least it had been shown with a hatch open when empty.

I would have taken a few more screenshots on the second one, but then I fell off the top of the Altgard fortress and died. For a game about flying elves, you sure die by falling all the time.

No, I didn't switch to playing Aion. This is Lightwing, my Champions Online character who I built primarily using the Celestial powerset. (click thumbnails)
And his alt costume, showing a lot more skin which I like, of course.
An interesting facet of the Celestial powerset is that many of the powers have a dual purpose depending on whether you target an enemy or an ally. Here is Lightwing using Celestial Conduit to attack, and then to heal himself. One power, two uses; it's awesome.
What's stopping you? It's a good game, especially now that they've polished out some of the content gaps and redone certain sets to balance them out. Just ask for a trial on the CO thread, I think the buddy trial allows you to play more content than the default trial.
There's a trial? Y'see this is why I hate having so many games I want to try out; one always slips through the cracks. Looks like I'll have to jump right on that now.
My Munitions toon Dusk Hawk exploring Lemuria for the first time (not counting the Lemuria Crisis, which is too hectic to do any sight-seeing). I heard none of the cool kids will mrp with you unless you have an underwater costume for Lemuria so I mades me one.
