Anyone checking out the ScrewAttack Gaming Convention? It's taking place at the Westin DFW Hotel from July 3rd through July 5th. Pre-registration to visit the entire weekend ends on June 22nd. Costs $40 now but will be $50 after that ($20 per day at the door).
Here's a few things you can expect there:
-Full-size coin-op arcade set on freeplay.
-A 7,000 square feet console gaming lounge with your favorite titles and imports like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Sailor Moon Fighting Spirit on the Super Famicom, IIDX 15 DJ Troopers, DDR:Extreme, Initial
Extreme Stage, and Wangan Midnight.
-BYOC LAN gaming.
-Plenty of tabletop gaming.
-Nolan Bushnell (founder of the original Atari), AVGN (that suspiciously famous crude guy), and Jack Thompson (gulp) as guests. Thompson will be participating in a debate and Q&A, if you've ever wanted to do such a horrible thing!
-Plenty of tournaments, including HD Remix, SF2: Rainbow Edition, Speedrun Competitions, Rock Band, Partners Pac-Man, Blindfolded Sonic Speedrun and many more ways to win prizes/money on the games you're good at.
-There will be an eating competition as well. I pity anyone who participates.
-A movie room to hang out in and be lazy along with the usual variety of dealers with retro gaming paraphernalia.
-Lots of other bizarre attractions such as a cartridge dust blowing competition, MUGEN (the fighting game mess), Saturday Morning Cartoon party complete with sugary breakfast cereal, and plenty of other things destined to make you shake your head.
I'll be there and was wondering if I could meet any Dallas Penny Arcade users while I was attending. Also if you had any ideas for classic PC games or something else we should play while we're there (maybe some eight player Fire Pro Wrestling).
If anyone is interested you can register by clicking on my signature (and give me a referral) but if you don't like that pressure or just wanna read about it then you can go to

P.S. this is a Monoxide approved thread!

That is a pretty good selection, but I think the retro games are a little skimpy. Plenty of great modern imports, though, and I might finally get a chance to play the Sega Saturn!
