DIY Fancy Dress(aka Costume Party ideas)

Basically a friend of mine is having a fancy dress(costume party) pub crawl in about a weeks time and I’m completely stuck for ideas for what I can dress up as. So does anyone have any good ideas what I could do?

Preferably not something that’s going to get me beat up/denied entry to clubs. ;-)

EDIT:
Ah sorry, I'm a average built guy and my budget is probable about £30/£40.

    seriously. easiest look to pull together since it covers 90% of your body and all you have to add is a shirt/tie/belt/shoes

    Empty ceral boxes attached to you, cut them up and cover them in fake blood. Get a big metal spoon and stick bits of cereal and fake blood to it.

    Tada, cereal killer. Did this a year or two ago and everyone loved it.

    Haha, no, he's the only one to have given correct advice.

    Cowboy Bebop is in the UK. By fancy dress he means a costume. He needs costume ideas.
