I just tried to unistall WoW and it told me there were a bunch of files missing, said it couldn't unistall and then removed itself from the add/remove programs list. How do I remove this program from my computer now?
no you cannot have a sig that size. especially with compression that crappy.
Dude... do you relize how long this would take? All the folder and files are still there in the directory, there just isn't any uninstall file.
WoW is a huge install, 1.5hours about.
Basically what I'm asking is... how do I uninstall a program that isnt' listing in the add/remove list?
Edit: so upon further inspection the .exe file is gone, but all the other patch shit is still there. The uninstall thing took less than a second, could it have actually worked and just left a bunch of info behind?

I remember when I uninstalled WoW (I've been dry for 90 days now, ), I had the same problems. I think uninstall still left a bunch of crap that I had to manually erase.

Like serioulsy I wouldn't be surprised if they made it that way purposely, so you can never leave...
But today if my first day free and clear. With the new honor changes I had an unexpect moment of clarity that changed my perspective drastically. I just relized that the amount of time I was wasting to get fucking electronic numbers was absurd.

Congrats. I kicked the habit a few months back, and I find I don't miss it at all now. I'm enjoying the extra time I have to get stuff done, like go through the backlog of games I bought but then hardly played because WoW was taking up all my free time. The only tricky part was hardening my heart to the bitter weeping of my codependent addict friends.
As for uninstalling WoW, if the uninstaller failed the only part you really need to worry about is the WoW install folder (C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft by default I think). Deleting that will clear up the vast majority of the 1.5GB of space WoW was taking up. You may have some leftover registry keys or application data, but you'll never see those and they won't affect anything unless you reinstall WoW. Which isn't going to happen, because you've got willpower, right? Right?
don't worry. Even after you have deleted it your Phat Lewts will still be waiting for you when you return. Just so you know...
Quiet you!
If you are really quiting you should log in and delete your characters. I bet you can't do it. I double dare yah
You know what... I can't. I really can't. I actually told my brother that he can use my account. Gave him the password to a 60 priest geared out and a 57 rogue. But man I have no idea what to do with myself. I've just been browsing these forums for a few hours now.

Oh then you can just get a GM to restore the alts you deleted after you re-install WoW and buy back the E-bayed account with your main on it from the lucky bastard you sold it to. Good as new.
At this point, you've wasted so much getting back into the game, why not just leave it installed in the first place?
Woah, this thread made me go back and check our point tracker. My last raid was 08/19/06. I played on alt for a week or so, then played Alpha for about 5 hours....I still think about reactivating my account at least 2-3 times a week.
Srsly though... I do really enjoy all the free time I have now. For almost a year my Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday were "booked". I still try to fill up that time, but now it with non-video game stuff...

Playing WoW "only when you are bored" is like smoking "only when you are drinking".

What, isn't that what we're trying to do?
I may have cancelled my account, but I can't bear the thought of deleting any of my characters.
Delete their souls.
