A friend needs to help update the website for her family's restaurant. Her parents apparently ignored the fact that she doesn't actually know how to do this, so I'm trying to help her out. It's been a while since I've worked with web pages so I'm a little out of the loop in terms of simple, easy to use editors (I tended to wrangle with html hands-on myself). The pages are just simple html so no need to worry about php, javascript, etc. support and she can handle uploading stuff to the ftp server fine, so I just need some pointers towards a free editor she can use.
Do you have Word? That can output html. Open Office writer also can?
Not that these are the best, in fact I would put them lower in the 'html editor bin'; but it's something you might already have on your computer if you just need to do a touch up or two.
