So, since I keep saying "Name this ____" threads, I got thinking about this game I played a long time ago, probably fairly obscure but I can't find it. I've been googling it, but can't find it.
It was some kind of murder mystery, with voice over by and English guy and you run around the house( I think it's a farm house, or house in the country) talking to different people. It was video rather than computer generated. The characters, which mostly consist of a married couple, responded based on what questions you ask.
The game was narrated by a Therapist, and randomly he would give you psychological tests. Based on your responses the ending of the game would be different.
I really don't remember too much out it besides that. It's fairly old, I believe at least 10 years, but maybe older. There may be a kid or a dog or something they call Pumpkin or Punkin...that might be a red herring though.

It's more about this couple, talking to them ect...their having some weird problems and the therapist is like 'well what do you think about that?' and then also asks you a series of psychological questions and then shows you some ink blots.
You never leave the house from what I remember(except maybe if you're taken to the psychologist's office). And the more I think about it something happened to the couple's child and you have to figure out what.
I remember the psychologist sounding British and old.
Edit: It's not really creepy like 7th guest. I don't think there's any combat. And the house is nice and peaceful and most of it takes place during the day.
Basically you go around exploring their house looking in the different rooms at things, and having conversations with them and the therapist with ask you what you thought about it. And in between chapters it will give you test like "I would enjoy working in a circus" Strongly agree <-> Strongly disagree scale.
I don't have an answer, I'm afraid, but a question of my own: I remember having this game on the C-64 where you played a little robot who worked as a short-order cook. You'd get in orders and you'd then have to prepare the dishes, using different ingredients, making sure not to burn anything. Does this ring a bell? I've Googled for it, but the obvious keywords don't return any useable results.

Based on the brief Wikipedia description, sounds like it's probably Tender Loving Care.
I have never, ever heard of this game but I am now intrigued.
I hope it comes out on GoG because I want to check this out based on the OP's description (assuming you hit on the right game here) and the Wikipedia description.

But there's no therapist.
Edit: Actually, it is Phantasmagoria 2.

Kinda reminds me of 7th Guest, though that isn't it.

Fuck, that was the genre. I was trying to find that list to post here. All I could think of was VML... so close and so wrong.
It's not Phantasmagoria 2?
Then I can't think of another FMV game with a therapist, sorry. :?
That is the one that starts out with the really awkward: "I had a bad dream!" "There there, baby, let's do it" intro movie, right?
Else, I've also forgotten which game I'm trying to remember.
