If there is something GS/Elitist Jerks do right on Mal'Ganis, it's most certainly their videos and music choices. God, looking back...I kind of miss being in EJ.
You guys must have missed the note saying that you'll need 15% more resilience to get what you have now.
it's still vastly better than what it is currently, they made the curve 15% steeper but it's still going from a crits-percent-reduction-and-crit-damage-reduction-oh-and-it-makes-dots-weaker to a crit-percent-reduction-and-flat-damage-reduction. Jesus stat.
So Blizzard pretty much wants to force every PvPer to either use Resilience or just not queue up ever. Meaning if you don't have resilience already, OOOOOOH WEEEEELL!
It's very easy to get a full set of gear with resilience via battlegrounds, and it's not like you need optimal gear for battlegrounds.
Also, assuming you play 10 arena games every week, even if you lose all of them, you'll still get 300 or so arena points a week allowing you to get 5 of your pieces of gear quite discounted.
Really, it's pathetically easy to gear up for PvP.
It is now. Season 5 was downright retarded with the fucking BLUE set requiring 60,000 honor a piece.
The problem is that PvP gear has to keep up with PvE gear, otherwise people will repeat Season 5 and farm raids for the best weapons. But PvE gear has to increase ilevel for the sake of establishing a progression path.
What this means is that the honor set next season (Deadly) is 45 ilevels lower than Relentless, whereas this season's honor set (Hateful) is only 32 ilevels lower than Furious. To make matters worse, the crafted set is still a pathetic 187 AND blue.
So unlike PvE, where Blizzard tries to reduce barriers to entry, each season of PvP is increasingly more hostile for new players. Couple this with the crippling of the 2s bracket (a decision I personally agree with, but it is popular) and the death spiral of PvP will continue. We need Blizzard to really put its foot down and truly keep the two types of gear separate. So PvP can have smaller ilevel increases each season while still being superior to PvE loot in terms of PvE and the PvP gear can be very easy to get without allowing raiders easy access to good raid gear.

can someone help me explain to my raid leader why the 100% self-snare Snaplasher gets in 10man is not the same mechanic as a root like Frostbite/Frost Nova and why having frost mages with Frostbite attacking Snaplasher is a BAD idea?
Yeah, Alliance loses on all events where King Douche is present.
Not at home so I can't poast it...but I ran my paladin into the throne room to turn in a quest at the library....and ran over his corpse as all the horde ran out. Screenshotted me sitting on his head and cheering at the horde.
Have never wanted to be able to buff opposing faction as badly as I did the other day
I did the Wrathgate event for the first time last night. That was pretty awesome.
The horde one is amazing
The alliance one with King Doucebag and Mr Shits in the woods to start with is not
I did them both and thought the Horde one wasn't as good, since the Alliance get to kill Putress, who killed Bolvar. The horde one is like... hey, you know those demons that we're always trying to kill? Turns out they're bad guys! Who woulda thunk?

Thrall took the time to heal people
King Douchebag kept going on and on without stopping
I banished Varimathras who was an ally maybe for the horde
I killed some dude that showed up at the end of TBC and killed everyone at Wrathgate
I like the momment at the end with Thrall and Saurfang
Do the alliance get much cool stuff between the Wrathgate and the city stuff though? Because going through Orgrimmar with the city on lockdown, forsaken refugees in makeshift camps outside, all the traders out in a big mob complaining and warsong battleguards patrolling durotar is probably my favourite part of the whole event.
Seeing all that the first time was one of the best "Holee shit" moments in WoW.
ugh, i forgot about the damned wrathgate quest.
what are the negatives for not doing it again?
because that undercity invading thing was so boring.
like, there's absolutely no point for you to do anything so you could alttab while thrall/other npcs took care of the mobs that just kept coming and coming.

Level any slacking weapon skills. This is especially effective if you're a warrior as you'll have unlimited rage.

As a note, since I leveled both my Paladin and Warrior as prot, I would occasionally (and maybe only for a second or two each time) pull aggro off of Thrall.
Pulling aggro off of Thrall was...interesting. Granted, he has a pulsing challenging shout effect, but Varimathras still hit hard for that second or so.
On a side note while leveling my Paladin my wife has been running me through instances and has been doing the quests with me for them...except for all the ones that Varimathras has... She was pissed when she couldnt figure out why she couldn't find him to turn in a drop quest form RFK and I reminded her that she had killed him

Just Battle.net your accounts. I exited the game and logged in a couple times during the time people were having login issues and I got in every time.
Silence, foul temptress! I've tried to Battle.net my WoW account twice, and every time, I get the "Unable to connect" error message until I have to spend 30 minutes on the phone with Blizzard support as they unmerge my accounts.

I hope those don't count for Loremaster.
I know the Alliance quests in RFK seem to count. I'd assume horde side ones would as well.
If I remember right they lowered the number of quests you need in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms some time ago, so it is very likely they do count but it doesn't matter so much.

Wait, when you kill him you can't get the quests he would've otherwise offered anymore?

Yes, but I can't recall him offering any quest past level 50 and you kill him at around 78.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I wonder if that quest line is Blizzard putting their toe in the water for having a more persistent game world in future expansions. Like, you have a choice of what to do in certain quests, and your decisions opens access to certain areas/quests/items, and close off access to others.
I think that's what they are trying to do with the Star Wars MMO, not too sure. I think it would be an interesting concept, though. It's always been the one complaint I've had with MMOs, that your actions don't really have any impact to the world as a whole. I mean, you would think that the Alliance would have gotten that Defias thing under control by now.

Lesse....he's involved with the Scarlet Monastery stuff, Ragefire chasm, plus a couple odd quests you turn in to him...
And those quests in Eastern Plaguelands. The ones with Nathanos Blightcaller( http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=6144). You can't finish those if you've killed Varimathras.

Maybe that's the toe in the water...
But pretty much all of Storm Peaks and IceCrown is this way. The Engine of the Makers, Dun Neffilim and surrounding area... Both the Argent Crusade and Ebon Blade areas (Crusader's Pinnacle/Shadow Vault) are like this...
In those cases though, the quest progression is pretty linear and you don't lose anything by completing the quests. Which is how I'd expect them to handle it in the future.
On my server, anywhere you WEREN'T getting ganked or camped by lvl 80's you could assume was 'phased'.
But if you miss Varimathras, don't worry. Once Garrosh kills Thrall and poisons Saurfang and takes over the Horde, he'll place the Orcs back on their just and right path beside the Burning Legion and they will welcome back Varimathras (who is disguised as some random member of the Scarlet Crusade to be sure).

Normally all quests that people have done long before they reach the 70s. Now it might be worth Blizzards time to produce a measure that lets people turn in the quest even though the normal NPC no longer exists, some kind of filler NPC that is that dudes replacement in Undercity. And it is something that might even be worth suggesting to Blizzard.

One of these days, Blizzard is going to patch the game so that corpses in cities and newbie zones don't appear for other players, so that this new trend of gold selling sites spelling out their URL in corpses will be halted.
