Thunderstorm woes

I was on my desktop during a thunderstorm (my hindsight tells me this was a bad move) when my computer shut down. It seemed to restart, fans/lights turned on, but nothing appeared on my screen. I took a trip to the store and bought a new power supply and installed it. Same as before, lights and fans but nothing on the screen. I was about to give up and return the new power supply but I thought I should give it one more go. This time I plugged my monitor into my mobo's vga instead of my graphics card's dvi and, to my surprise, I got to the BIOS screen. The screen said CMOS settings have been changed, F1 to continue, delete to enter settings. My keyboard was not responding so I restarted.
I can't seem to get back to the BIOS screen. I am back at square one with running lights/fans but no picture on my monitor.

Some things I have tried:
-new power supply
-different configs of memory
-some old memory not involved in the thunderstorm
-all vga/dvi ports available
-removed graphics card

Does this sound like a fried mobo? Fried processor? Is it possible for a mobo to be partially fried, allowing for one partially successful boot?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

If you're getting fans and lights, it's not the power supply. A fried PSU just wouldn't turn on. It sounds like the motherboard got hit, the BIOS being stored on the motherboard after all. This means anything plugged into the motherboard could be dead too. You should start by replacing the motherboard, and seeing how far you get. Does it boot, HDDs work, video card work etc.

Also, for the love of all that's holy, buy a surge protector.
