So I've got this program on my PC that gives a nice graphical representation of how much space folders and files are taking up on my hard drive so when I run out of space I can see who the worst offenders are. I always forget the name of the program though and I'm wondering if there is an equivalent for the Mac because Scratch Disk for the Scratch Disk God!
You are thinking of Space Monger for the PC. I used it all the time before I got a Macbook. I haven't really had any issues with figuring out what's taking up large amounts of space on my hard drive, but it would be nice to know if a similar program exists for OSX. Have you tried searching for widgets for the dashboard?

The exact program you're looking for is Disk Inventory X- http://www.derlien.com/
You're also probably thinking of WinDirStat for the PC version, which is also a great program.
