Repeated condom slippage

Okay, unfortunately, my girlfriend moved away and I will as well soon...so we chose to break things off. That is where this thread begins, as my girl was on the pill and I was none to concerned about condom slippage (Also, we haven't been active that long, maybe a dozen times).

Okay, my problem is the following. We have been using several different types (although always trojans) and even though the last type (ultra thins) were almost too tight to get on (and it made my penis a bit insensitive, I could feel the pressure at the base) slippage has been a consistent feature. Not slipping off, but during intercourse the damned things seem to end up halfway along my penis before I come.

Now, when mildly erect (I get a lot harder when I am with my girl, but that is not as conducive to grabbing my ruler) I am pretty much average. So I cannot imagine the problem being too small. I don't have any piercings either....so that should be fine.

The thing is, as far as the instructions on the package are concerned, we were doing everything right. However, after some searching I found that some people suggest making 100% sure there is not air trapped inside the condom along the shaft. We never did this....now, can this cause aforementioned slippage? If not...any other suggestions before I got some girl pregnant?

You know that bulb on the end? Squeeze the air out then roll the condom on.
Is there a chance you are lossign a bit of your erection, thus giving a bit more wiggle room?

Definitely air pockets will cause slippage. You could possibly try unlubricated, though I would recommend purchasing something to put on the outside for her benefit (the idea being there isn't lubrication on the inside)... that might suck, but it might work.

    I would not recommend using a rubberband or a twist-tie. =P

Air can cause it to slip off.

You could have a skinny dick too.

    Try a smaller size.

Ah, okay....well, I have never seen size indications on packs. Where do I look for said 'smaller sizes'?

Trojan, I think, markets them as "snugger fit." Though I have never actually seen them in the grocery store where I buy. I doubt that is the problem though. Make sure you squeeze the reservoir so that there is no air in it. Also, make sure you are rolling it down all the way, as far as it will unroll. It is easy to not do that.

Another thing, sometimes stuff just gets crazy and slips all over the place, even in the best of conditions. You should be able to feel it slipping, so just reach down, or when you change position, or whatever the "smoothest" time to do it is, and pull it back towards the base.

Just don't snap it like a cop snaps a glove when he's about to do a cavity search. That shit hurts.

I should be able to feel it slip? Maybe it is my inexperience, or maybe I am just not paying attention, but I cannot feel any movement in the condom. Maybe it only slips off when I pull out? I tend not to hold the base (Again, these package instructions suck). Also, that would explain why they never really slip off, no matter how long we go at it (which, I have found, can be rather long).

I'll unroll all the way next time (which won't be for quite some time :( ). It just had me worried, current girl is on the pill so I was more or less on the 'we'll get some more experience and it'll work itself out'. However, things lasted somewhat shorter than hoped. And thus I am worried about any future encounters were I will be relying solely on condoms.

Haha, well, I did mention that when I am somewhat hard I have an average sized penis. Also...I have been naked with 3 girls....and all three times I was told that I was rather big. So my ego has been bloated enough. ;)

A few pointers that have helped me in the past:

    1) Make sure your johnson is *dry* before you put the condom on. That will help it stay in place better.
    2) You mentioned having it feel snug around the bottom? That's usually the fit I'm looking for.

Buy some non-Trojans. Seriously, I hated those when I used them in high school. Order some Beyond 7 condoms or something from an online place like condom.com

Durex have been reliable for me.

It was nice the first time I bought the multi-pack with three different variations in it. Brought it home, said to girlfriend, "Yeah, it's got like... different kinds and stuff"... Girlfriend says, "Ooh! Let's try them all!"

    Score. =P

Well, the girl was rather insistent on them being trojans. I still have some left, and will keep using them. Once done, I'll probably try some other brands (I did hear a lot of good about Beyond7).

don't let a girl tell you what kind of condoms to buy, it's your dick they have to fit.

    inSpiral is pretty good.

    Visit condomania.com

I buy all mine from this site, the prices and selection are fantastic.
I'd reccommend you get several small packs or even samples and give them a go.
    For example, this one:
    http://secure.condomania.com/prodinfo.asp?number=C-LSF-SL
is in their top-ten sellers, and might work for you.
I personally hate trojans, so trying other brands is always a good idea.

It's impossible to have air pockets if you simple pinch the tip with one hand while you roll it on with the other. If the problem keeps happening, it's a size thing.

Could the issue be precum causing a saturation of lubrication inside the condom and causing it to slip?

This could be the case, but only if the condom isn't on properly in the first place. The tip of the condom is designed to hold "liquid," and if it's slipping off from a little precum, then that's either an abnormally large amount of precum or the condom is on too loose.

If the current rubbers are too tight to where you're losing sensitivity and having trouble getting them on, then don't get snugger fit. Try Magnums. I had the same problem, and it was definitely worth making the switch.

Try a few different brands. Different companies make there condoms in slightly different shapes/widths etc. So find one that feels best for you. I used to get that tight feeling and buying a different brand fixed it.

Are you sure you are putting it on 100% hard? The only time i've ever encountered slipping is when i've rolled them on prematurely.

Thanks for all the tips so far!

Not sure, once we get going, I get quite a bit harder....but it is just really difficult to attain that level of hardness without actually having sex.

Damnit, this should come so natural. :P
