In the 13th hierarchical city, Kagutsuchi, the Librarium regulates the amazing power of "Armagus", a fusion of magic and technology. Currently they are aft er a wanted criminal named Ragna The Bloodedge, also known as "Death", who wants to destroy the Librarium.
GONNA GO DOWN GIT A BOOK OUTTA THAT THERE LIBRARIUM.
The only (traditional) fighting game I've really tried to learn was Soulcalibur IV, and I did have a few "HA HA HA HA!" moments when I figured out how to do some cool shit.
I bought Blazblue and it was entertaining for a day, but I haven't even touched it since.

is blazblue worth picking up for someone that their last fighting game was soul calibur 2, or is it off in the realm of awesome but totally unapproachable??

modern fighting games are too focused on pedantic timing requirements for me to enjoy most of them
my personal enemy in these games is the dreaded Just Input
fuck you and your one-frame window
blazblue has almost none of that
nothing you'll encounter soon (i just encountered my first instance of this today in attempting jin's most damaging combo. except there's a way to do it without it... so)
pfft there playing with controllers noobs =P great comic actually this is totally a chapter from the life of any nerd who's ever picked up a fighting game at the same time as his friend.

No, not really.
Every fighting game I've ever played with a friend, we pretty much dicked around with no intention of really getting into it. I prefer it this way.
The only fighting series I ever learned to bother the intricacies of is Virtua Fighter (4, Evo and 5). And none of my friends played that, so I only got to test my skills online in 5.

it is a very good panel
my personal enemy in these games is the dreaded Just Input
fuck you and your one-frame window
for instance, I really, really like Setsuka
but in IV they changed a bunch of her moves to require just input in order to activate the second/third motion
which is lame

i'd say it's more approachable than guilty gear
the only problem may be the fact that it is intensely japanese
it is very approachable and awesome

GEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEE
they agreed to not get too good at the game lest it ruin the fun they had with it initially
consequently tycho gets a massive guide to the game, and gabe practices until late at night mastering what is implied to be difficult and powerful
I wonder why I wondered that because I have no idea who the characters are in Blazblu
THE HERO OF LOVE AND JUSTICE
HAILED BY THE HEAVENS,
EARTH,
AND PEOPLE
i think that it is
the first time you hear it you're like
what the FUCK am I listening to
then every time after that it really does get you pumped up and ready to wreck face on a little old purple guy
