Selling a 360/Buying a Wii

A friend of mine bought an Xbox 360, used it for a few months, then got sick of the constant RROD's and returns to Microsoft. The last one he got back still works perfectly, but he lost all interest in the machine. He's looking to sell it, then buy a Wii and a large catalogue of older games via Virtual Console. So what I'm asking for him here is how much should he be looking to sell his 360 for? It's a 60GB console with one wireless pad, in the original box as far as I know.

I have little to no experience of the 360 so I have no idea how much he should be looking to sell it for, so I'd appreciate some advice. Also, as to the Wii, is buying a secondhand console a risk? I know it's a Nintendo machine, and my launch unit still works perfectly, but seeing as I've never been near a secondhand unit I have no idea what to expect. I know they can be formatted and all that, I was just wondering if it's better for him to get a new unit than risk getting an early console with the video chip rot that plagued some of the early/launch consoles.

...and I thought of how all those people died, and what a good death that is. That nobody can blame you for it, because everyone else died along with you, and it is the fault of none, save those who did the killing.

A quick search of completed listings on eBay for used 60GB Xbox 360s suggests he could get around $120-$140 for a system, hard drive, and controller, more if he's got some games or accessories.

I would probably just buy a brand new Wii myself, but that's because I think buying used electronics is a bit more of a gamble than I like to take. His mileage may vary.

    Hope this helps!

Wii's go for like $250 right? new anyways? I'd be wary to buy it from craigs list or something. You wont save much getting a used one from Gamestop either (i got one used, but only because i couldn't find them new) i don't think.
