Also, before anyone writes off Real Heroes: FireFighters for the Wii, it's actually had decent hands-on previews. Apparently it's like Call of Duty meets Metroid Prime meets firefighting. Supposed to have a decent story and good voice acting, including Jamie Kennedy and Bender i mean John Di Maggio. It's also $30 iirc.

TMNT for the win. Anyone know if it has the original music?

I'm all for remakes and such, but the graphics in the TMNT remake look pretty horrendous.

Hoping Mothership Zeta is good, seeing as it is the last Fallout 3 DLC.

Just Zeta I think. I didn't even know they made a G.I. Joe game but movie tie in games releasing to every platform under the sun don't have a great track record.

I've been thinking that it looks like they were shooting pretty low with the graphics in Reshelled, but on the whole it almost has to be better than getting the original, insofar as displaying it on an hdtv goes.

Not that I would have minded getting the original, though.

EDIT: I have a feeling GI Joe will be...what we expect it to be.

GI Joe looks like Crackdown: The Movie.

I wish the logic applied that GI Joe: The Game would be GI Joe's Crackdown: The Official Game of the Movie.

TMNT is the only must-buy of the week.

And I'm thankful that Ubi dropped the price.

But I would have bought it at $15. :P

not that dragonforce, this dragonforce. :P

Also I'd consider getting TMNT if it was released for PC as well. As it is, I can live without it if it never releases on PC. But it'd be something I'd at least consider.

Overturn looks like a shitty Virtual On/Armored Core ripoff that uses the wii balance board.

I might pick it up when it drops to $10.

Their music also works well with the other TMNT arcade title on the 360. Its awesome for any high energy beatemups.

Although I agree, I would like it for pc too, i would actually buy it for both, and I am morally against such actions normally.

    Oh my yes.

Random anecdote: remember when TMNT debuted in the 80s with a five-episode miniseries? I didn't hear about it beforehand, and turned on the tube expecting the normal cartoons. Instead, I got singers rapidly chanting "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." And then my head exploded from the sheer weirdness.

Tough to remember when the turtles were actually considered bizarre, eh?

Anyway, G.I. Joe. EA's non-proud return to quick licensed games. We've heard pretty much zilch about how it will play, right?

GI Joe looks like a potentially shoddy remake of the old forward-scrolling Space Harrier style arcade game, with mediocre 3D graphics and a confused presentation that mixes elements of the movie with elements of the cartoon.

I'll be picking up a copy in about 20 minutes. :)

Man, I've been trying to resist TMNT, but that does look pretty awesome. I might wait until after Shadow Complex, but damn, I want to bury my shell at Wounded Knee.

Well, played a bit of GI JOE. I shot dudes with inexplicable laser guns. I punched some guys. Epic orchestral versions of the original GI JOE theme blared out of my speakers.

    I'm enjoying it.

Keep in mind that I also like FMV games.

I skimmed the reviews for GI Joe.

Most reviews sum it up like this:

If they were going to make a 3D Contra, and tried, but ended up making it a little repetitive, a little dull, and a little lacking in personality, then you get this game.

I haven't played a true 3D contra yet. I have played Contra, Super C, Contra 3, Contra 4, and Contra Shattered Soldier. I have NeoContra sitting on my shelf but I've never tried it.

I like the idea but it sounds like GI Joe had a good idea.. The reviews say that the game was constrained by the movie. So they couldn't go all whacky with cool stuff like the Contra games are known for.

Apparently it has 2 player local coop, though, so there's that.

If you've ever seen the old Konami arcade GI Joe game, the new game is essentially that done in low budget 3D.

The Contra comparison is somewhat apt, although the game is much less platformy than Contra.
