if you check my posts or read what I say in other places from time to time there are a LOT of spoilers or subtle hints as to what is coming up in the games. ;p

anyway, I'd also like to point out that the game has a strong strategic lean to it. I won't ride you hard (IM NOT), but bad combat decisions can be costly. I guess what I'm saying is, this isn't really a "charge in" kind of thing?

There's only one gnome allowed per the duration of campaign... >_> <_< >_> ;p

    1) Current pbp games you are in or run. If you feel you were awesome in some game or whatever you can mention past ones too?
I haven't been involved in any pbp games.

    2) Availability M-F for make post, and time zone you are in.
I'm currently a jobless student (school starts 8/24) so I'm fully available. My timezone is pacific (-7GMT summer/-8GMT winter).

    3) A brief description of your non-bard LEADER, CONTROLLER OR LEADER/CONTROLLER HYBRID character's appearance and personality.
Ginnaletha, Eladrin Artificer. She's 5'8" and 150 lbs. Her hair is black, and cropped short. Her eyes are almost a glowing green. She believes in helping people, but also in enjoying all that life has to offer. She has the ability to focus intently on one topic from years of harsh tutoring from her father.

    Background:
Ginnaletha toiled night and day as an alchemist's apprentice under the tutelage of her father. Although her ability far surpassed all the other students in town, her father still pressed her to do better. Finally, Ginnaletha could take no more of the needless pressure and fled during the night.

She is currently traveling the world enjoying the carefree life of a vagabond. In her travels, she has used her knowledge to concocted remedies to heal the sick, and potions to aid the defense of towns. While not helping other people, she has learned to enjoy many of the finer things in life and indulges in excess at times. She can often be found in the bed of an inn, either nursing a hang-over, or simply sleeping the day away.

Rumor has it that there are giant ants invading a near-by town and Ginnaletha has determined to find out what caused them to grow in size, and maybe use it in a potion of hers.

    4) If available, a link to Mythweaver's character sheet or whatever (CB or other coherent sheet).
    Character sheet

    5) You've been traveling with another adventurer and a monster attacks. The two of you manage to bring severely wound it, but not before your friend is severely wounded. The monster is clever, putting you into a situation where you must choose between your partner's life or pursuing it. Though you didn't know it beforehand, your partner would die from the wound regardless. With his dying breath he tasks you with returning an heirloom to his family at the nearest town. When you get there they ask you what happened. Did you run? Did you leave him? Are you the monster? (Behind a spoiler in-character what does your character do/say?).
Ginnaletha solemnly walks up the path to her dear friend's house. She knocks on the door, and fights back the tears as she prepares her speech. When her friend's parents answer, all she can manage to do is hold out the necklace and rasp out a few I'm sorries. The three of them embrace and cry at the unfortunate loss of such a wonderful person. Once they have calmed down, Ginnaletha describes to them the battle and the vile, crafty creature who ambushed them. She vows to round up some hearty adventures that she has met and they will track down the beast and see that it is destroyed. As she heads out the door, Ginnaletha leaves her friends backpack and a split of the coin they had been saving.

Looking over Shamans, they seem really annoying. I think I'd rather play a Druid, as they can turn into bears as opposed to just having some dumb spirit bear hanging around. Not that I'm applying, as you seem to have a druid hanging out already.
But...if I were applying: A Halfling Druid. Who turns into a mongoose. Urah.

    Character: Pietr Sunglade

    1) Current pbp games you are in or run. If you feel you were awesome in some game or whatever you can mention past ones too?
Sort of in SniperGuy's KOTS.- it's on hiatus due to family difficulties of the DM. In Arivia's Forward Guard.

    2) Availability M-F for maek post, and time zone you are in.
I start work on Monday. I'll get off work at 5PM Mountain Time. So probably 5PM-10PM erryday.

    3) A brief description of your character's appearance and personality.
Pietr's snow white hair shows him to be old, and it's obvious he's been old for a long time. The shaman of a small trading town on the far side of the mountains, he's watched over his village for over seventy years. Every soul he knew in his youth has long since passed away. His current apprentice has served under him for eighteen years, and is more than ready to take over the leadership of the town. Pietr has left his longtime home to die. He's lived a long, full life, has few regrets, and has decided to see as much of the world as he may before his aging body fails him.

    4) Link to Mythweaver's character sheet or whatever.

Hello. the choice is as follows:
    Cleonicus - Ginnaletha, Eladrin Artificer

You should be incorporated into the game sometime this week... the encounter they're in now should be wrapping up in theory by midweek. If not, you'll have your own brief side adventure to go on or some such thing. I'll review your character sheet in depth later too. For now though, welcome aboard.

Thanks to the rest of you for expressing interest in joining up. If you'd like to be put on the reserve list in the event that people are unable to participate/drop out/etc, please indicate so here on a post.

edit: oh yea, if you need to contact me, swing by #criticalfailures and drop me a message. At the very least, my laptop is there. ;p

    Casting Call Revisited

Unfortunately one of my players isn't going to be able to continue so there is a sixth slot open again =\. will probably have a shorter turnaround time for this run. If you already have an app and you said you wanted to be on reserve you can change what you have, to be fair.

I say that because I've given it a lot of thought, and I do not think that a Shaman would work at all in this game. Shaman lean toward Leader/Defender… I am looking for something with a Leader/Controller slant, and the concepts given didn't really marry up to this game too well either. Please do not submit an artificer, because there is one in the party already (Cleonicus' character). Bards are ok now, sort of maybe.

Controller is still fine, it's just as far as a leader role character goes a leader/defender wouldn't really fit the bill for mechanical needs as much as a leader/controller or straight out leader would.

As it is I can't see them (Shamans) working. I read them all again, and looked over the class itself and they aren't particularly viable for this game, I suppose. Rather than have someone re-post the same app so that I can look at them with the same conclusion as far as the shaman go, I figured it would be best to allow those people the chance to choose a different one, to be fair?
