I'm in the process of moving. Our family has two ps3s. One is a 60 GB, has wireless internet, and is backwards compatible and the other has much less storage, no wireless connection, and is not backwards compatible. I won't be seeing the good ps3 for about two months and I have all my gamesaves, my profile, and my trophies and stuff on that one.
If I put my gamesaves on the other ps3 and played on there, then transferred the files back, would any trophies and things I've earned also go back to the good ps3? And is there any way to take my profile over to the other system for online play or profiles in games (like how it tracks your record in stats in Madden)?
I need to know by tonight because tomorrow, everything gets packed......
I know how to transfer the data, but I was just wondering if I could keep my profile as well as any trophies or profile stats I might accumulate on the second PS3.
Yes, I logged on to a friends PS3 with my account, and it synced the trophy data. You create a new account on the second PS3, and then try to sign into PSN. It will ask you to either create a new PSN account, or if you want to log in with one you already have. Once you link them, you can view trophy data, which syncs up. Game saves you'll need to transfer the regular way with a memory stick or card.
If you have any DLC, you don't need to copy that over, with your account you can sign in to the store, and view your download history - there you can download any DLC or games you want on the second PS3. You can download any DLC on up to five PS3s.
While you have access to both, try the above out to make sure it works for you.
