I have PTSD/OCD. My counselor, after numerous sessions, told me that since my pathology was similar to my brothers', that the same drug (fluoxetine) would work for me.
She sent me to a physician, almost as a mere formality.
Long story short- unbeknownst to my counselor, the physician was *bullshit*. Instead of following her recommendation, she gave me a physical. In which, her nurse stated my height was 5'8" (I'm thoroughly 5'11", almost 6 feet, really) and the due to her further incompetence (not being able to operate the EKG), the tests on my heart were inconclusive. (Never give an anxiety sufferer an inconclusive heart test.)
She then recommended I go to a new counselor, coincidentally a friend of hers, who charged $250 per hour, cash only.
At one point she inferred I was doctor shopping for tranquilizers.
To give you an idea of this doctor's incompetence, she found out that I was married with 2 children in the final 5 minutes of the appointment. What could give more context to any medical situation than my actual life circumstance???
I went to a new doctor, got the fluoxetine (no benzos needed), and have felt immeasurably better.
The old doctor sent me a bill for $300, and after all I've been through I don't think she deserves to be paid. How do I avoid paying this useless cur?
