Car Speaker Advise

Okay, apparently my 3.5 in dash speakers are blown, and since I'm low on cash I need some cheap replacements.

The cheapest pair I can found, that seem like they are of reasonable quality, are these Blaupunkts.

Can you guys let me know if these are worth the $20 or if they're total garbage?

they're alright, worth $20 sure i suppose - no complaints, blaupunkt puts out some decent stuff imo, i have a set of their componant speakers and 6x9's in my car currently, got them from crutchfield when they were having a really nice sale on them

you using a factory radio?

i've had 3.5 speakers before in cars that have died on me, replaced the speakers before, but it still sounded kinda sucky. 3.5's usually dont drive enough out, or maybe it was because i was using the factory radio?

I have an Alpine head unit.

The speakers that were blown are Alpine too.

Had them for about 4 years now.

I bought some Blaupunkts for my last car, I had no complaints with them and felt they actually put out some really good sound for costing next to nothing. I was using a pioneer head unit, so you can probably squeeze better sound out of the alpine. Also, have you checked crutchfields scratch and dent store? You can score some top notch speakers for dirt cheap there, I got an alpine amp and two alpine components for 350 total, and the only thing wrong with the amp was it had a pretty big scratch on the BOTTOM of the unit, and I never could figure out what was wrong with either of the component sets.
