I don't think I was ever so glad to see a movie character die.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly probably qualifies here, although that's almost a movie with no real "good people" in it.

Payback is one that I enjoyed, another would be What lies beneath or Death Proof.

Yeah no. There Will Be Blood has no protagonist.

    Daniel Plainview was evil.

    Hilarious, but evil.

It's not the greatest movie ever made, but one of my favorite bad-guy-comeuppance movies is UHF.

Well, everybody was evil, and everybody gets their comeuppance.
The only good person was his son and his girlfriend/wife, and they get away from Plainview in probably the best way possible. Not a happy ending, but a cathartic one.

This is the best answer to your question:

    Dogville.

I know you have a lot of suggestions here but this is exactly what you are looking for. I spent the last ten minutes of the movie cheering out loud, cackling madly while making gun sounds and pretending to shoot at the screen.

    Watch it!

The ending of Old School has such an interesting take on karmatic retribution.

    Also, Thomas Jane's Punisher.

Also, did the OP ever come back and clarify what he was looking for, or is this thread just kind of floating in the ether so to speak?

Excellent suggestion. I still love that flick... also, the Duke twins scene in Coming to America.

    Shawshank Redemption.

Each of the bad guys gets that one singular special moment where you can see from the look in their eyes that they're fucked and they KNOW that they're fucked.

For big movies that leave things hanging, there's always The Usual Suspects.

But for those where the dude gets served, there's tons. One that happens in a spectacular non-actiony way was Michael Clayton.

Sorry I didn't clarify sooner, I've been a bit busy.

Yeah, I don't just mean that the bad guys just simply loses, because thats almost every movie.

I don't know. Its hard to describe what I'm looking for. Like I said, Last House on the Left is a good example...The Brave One and Death Wish are also good ones. And on the lighter side of things, the Oceans trilogy fits in nicely.

Slightly unrelated: Can anyone recommend movies similar to the Oceans movies? They're just so damn slick and smart. And pretty funny, I think.

    Thanks.

Do you need the bad guy to get the shit kicked out of him? If no, there are two TV series' that you need to watch.

Burn Notice: Ex-spy helps out people who need protection from criminals. Awesome show, funny as hell, and the bad guy almost always gets it, but usually lives.

Leverage: A team of thieves steal from rich companies/individuals who screwed over "the little guy." Another awesome funny show.

    You mean heist movies?

I really liked Heist. Gene Hackman, Danny DeVito, Delroy Lindo and Ricky Jay. It was pretty funny too.

The Code was not too bad. Bandaris and Morgan Freeman. Think it came straight to dvd this year?

Bandits with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton was ok. I like how it ended.

Scorched also was not too bad. Its basically like 3-4 different stories, each robbing the same bank, at the same time.

The Thomas Crown Affair was not too bad either. The middle is pretty boring (at least I found), but I liked both how it started (the heist) and how it resolved in the end.

A bit of a stretch, but of the Guy Ritchie movies I really liked Snatch. The whole ensemble is really good and though it is not a heist movie (well, sort of heh) I would say it fits in that it is similar to Oceans.

Samuel Jackson and Bruce Willis do an excellent job of being VERY entertaining. Jeremy irons does a great job of playing the villain.

Strangely enough, Uhf also falls under this category.

As for the first request, there was a Tom Selleck movie I saw a long time ago called An Innocent Man that might fit the bill. I can't speak to how good it is since it was over a decade since I saw it.

    Spoiler on the ending:
Among other things, the corrupt cop who framed the main character and put him in prison ends up going to prison himself. A friend of the main character's on the inside shouts out "hey officer" while he's going by, which the corrupt cop reacts to. This lets the entire prison population know that he was a cop and the implication is that he's not going to survive his time on the inside now that there are people who would be gunning for him.
