and drug deals and killing cops and shooting your wife in the head for being a puta.
mariachi is hard fucking core.
edit: speaking of old music, my band should do a cover of anything goes.
AANYTHING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOES
man, I was friends with the guys who used to play mariachi music at the Cuban restaurant I frequented in Tampa, and they'd take requests. They got together there for the first time in 3 years a couple months ago, and I was lucky enough to be there that night, and they played Malaguena Salerosa, with me singing. It was fucking BOSS

This mexican girl we all hang out with regularly listens to mariachi and she translates for us and i'm like "damn mariachi, you scary."
Has Franz Ferdinand - This Fire been posted yet? My work is blocking all these youtube embeds so I can't tell.
Also, as horrible as the effects of bushires can sometimes be around here, I love the smell of them, basically because they smell exactly like what our fireplace smelled like back when we had one when I was a kid. Makes me all homesick and nostalgic.
Honestly, I've been wondering, how the fuck do people get killed by brush fires? Over here in California we have huge ones every one or two years and we hardly ever seem to have deaths over it. What gives?
All I know is-- since I'm assuming you're headed to Canada-- is that the 210 is probably fucked, but my dad drove through it two days ago, so I doubt it's closed. You might have trouble traffic wise, but I don't know of anything being closed. Hope this helps.
Also here PI, they're not "brushfires", they're "bushfires".
Not sure what fires are like over there, but here they involve the burning of forests with 20m+ trees, fuelled by a fuckload of dried leaves and ground-cover.
The fires in Victoria were particularly bad because there had been no efforts made in the last 10+ years to clear all the "fuel" for these fires. Combined with strong wind, these fires literally moved through parts of the region at 100km/h.
100km? Jesus that's fast. Though, a lot of times with fires in California the reason they get to be so big and so out of control is because the fire fighters and forest services put them down so quickly. What this eventually resulted in were these "super fires" that were bigger and stronger than most fires before then. So, ironically, because they could put out these fires so quickly, it resulted in a bigger build up of brush and fuel. There was a 60 Minutes report on it a year or so back-- not that you would have seen it, but this is where I'm culling my information from.

Anyway I don't know how many people around here go in for a band of wacky screamin' dudes making noise, so perhaps it's for the best.

Also, telling slaves to wade in arctic water is terrible advice.

I mean, if we're going to do New Orleans, might as well do it right.

Where are you from, Tweaked Bat?
I'm in Sydney, Aus.
I still think it's hilarious that they also include This Fffire on that album
The ones we just recently had in Victoria however were the exception, and were quite the wake up call.

But over 100 deaths? That's insane to me. Then again, I don't know how many acres those fires covered, so what do I know?
So, yeah? Maybe? Maybe not?

Just putting that out there.

If you're taking CA-99, not sure you need to get anywhere near LA - just take CA-58 from Barstow and cut over to Bakersfield.
