Burning TV-Ready DVDs.

Okay so I want to burn my own DVDs of some videos I have on my HD and be able to play them in a standard DVD player, like on a TV. Is there any free program that I can use to do this, or am I going to have to buy some software?

Also I am on a PC. I have a feeling it would be a lot easier on a mac but oh well.

    ...but isn't free.

I *think* VLC will do it, if you ask it nicely.

I would highly recommend DVD Flick. It is open source (free) it will do all your reencoding for you and it has a very nice user interface. Basically just pick the video files you want and go more or less.
