Man, if I could run from the convention center to the race start, I'd totally be up for squeezing in a 5k, but that is definitely driving distance (~7 miles) from the convention center, and that presents too much travel time with a 9:30am race start. Alas, but if you do run, post a picture or two! Sounds like it'd be a hoot.
