This is the thread for all of us dedicated enough to drag their absurdly heavy desktop set ups down to a convention center for the BEST LAN PARTY EVER.
Welcome to
PAX 08 BYOC
Who are you?
Where are you seated?
Now new and improved!
What are you playing?
You can find me over in N-1 wearing a riduculous brown hawaiian shirt.
I'm in Row G, at the end in the aisle seat. In a blue sweatshirt with stripes.
Right now I am playing nothing: I have no Scavenger Hunt team, I'm lagging all over the place (wtf?!), and don't really know enough to get involved in the other tournaments, etc.

In BYOC? Want cookies? Want to support Child's Play? I'm in row D, towards the wall... and there are cookies on top of my computer. Grab a cookie, leave a donation if you can! I also have buttons if you do make a donation! Thank you! --DJ
I'm surprised not more people are sharing. I see a few nice ones though. I guess its not the best thing to do =P
I've got my usual LAN party shares active -- patches, cracks, and whatnot. No game installers or media though, because I don't keep them on this computer.

H7.
I'm Wireframe Ninja in TF2
I may eventually get around to installing Sins in an hour or so.
Honestly I'm spending a lot of time furiously burning the vast quantities of data I'm copying from other computers on the network. There's a program called Sharescan that's old as dirt and kind of buggy, but if you set it to scan from 10.10.1.1 to 10.10.4.255 it will build a searchable database of every file shared on the LAN.
There's a lot of files on this lan.
I will not go into detail about what kind of files.
You can use your imagination.
edit: I've pretty much confirmed that my share is not accessable for some reason. damnit, vista. gah

Oh, hey look, a thread for posting BYOC greetings.
Fail'd.
I don't know where I was sitting. It was quiet, and group activities didn't seem very well thought out. Nice sanctuary though.
For $25 I was expecting more of a LAN party atmosphere with more scheduled activities, and group gaming together. Instead it was half empty and most people were browsing the web or playing tf2. Meh.

It was in previous years, this year the lights were on a LOT of the time, and there wasn't much organised or announced. As in a list of suggested games at certain times. Atleast that way people would probably show up for specific games they wanted.
edit: I'm also retarded, I was actually sitting at o-16.
Seeing as I could only bring my laptop (taking a desktop on the bus across the border was not in the cards) I couldn't really do any gaming. I used it more as a place to check the web/meet up with people/escape the throng.
25 bucks well spent, imo. Plus, I got to meet a lot more of the IRC people than I would have otherwise, which was also major win.

You definitely aren't in D10 because I am in D10. Right now. I swear.

Ok, I'm in H-10. The letter on my row says D, but according to the map above, it's H.
Fixed!

Sorry!
It should be up for the rest of the event. If not, ask an enforcer to get my attention.
