Lube & Video Cards

Trying to make this as entertaining as possible...

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 XT video card that is a couple of years old. Recently, I've noticed that I can hear the fan on the video card and it's making sort of a grinding noise, like it's having a hard time rotating. I've also noticed periods of "artifacts" on the screen when playing some games (WoW, et al.) It seems to me that the video card might be overheating since it's performance isn't an issue when it's not being used for games and when I don't hear this fan noise as it doesn't happen all the time.

I'm probably going to upgrade my computer in the next year but I really don't want to spend a lot of money on a new video card until then. So, is there any way I can lubricate the fan? Will something like 10W40 work? Can I buy a cheap replacement fan?

You're lucky your fan still works.

I've been running my 9800pro for about 6 months on a broken fan. Bought a Blue LCD PCI card thing to sit next to it.
