Anyone done it? Care to share your experience?

I want to ship a vacuum packed turkey dinner to my sister in the UK. I'm sure it would be expensive cause it would have to get there quick, but I'd like to see if it's feasible at all. I have a vacuum packer, and I assume I'll need a box packed with dry ice or something. Any help, pointers, websites, etc. is much appreciated.

The first thing you want to do is go to the USPS (assuming you're shipping with the USPS) customs page for the UK, located here http://pe.usps.com/text/imm/fh_014.htm#ep3576772

Check to make sure you are even allowed to send it, note that one of the restrictions says "Meat, meat products, and animal products including dry sausage and dried milk require import license issued by appropriate UK Agricultural Department. "

There are also tables with prices for Express/Priority Mail International so you can get idea of the cost depending on how fast you want it to get there and how much it weighs.
