the Orange box and a huge WTF problem

Ok, so long story short, I bought the Orange Box for 360.

I start the game up, and I am taken to the main menu, but I can't do anything, it's like my controller isn't working, only it is. I just put in new batteries and have no problem browsing through my XBOX menu. But once the orange box starts up, it won't let me do anything. I can't move my cursor, I can't select any games or anything. So what is the problem here? It's really pissing me off.

    Narrow down the problem. Try the disc on someone else's 360, or rent another copy somewhere and see if it works.

    Try unhooking everything. Hard Drive, Power Supply, ect. Hook back up and see what happens then. Even try to resink controller just in case ...

    Yeah, see if it's just that specific disc or if it's a wider problem.

    I have a sneaking suspicion its the disc.

    When it loads up, does it start the HL2 title animation with the "Welcome to City..." voiceover?
