I also find the weapons pages on the UK site amusing, mostly for their disparaging review of the Buzy Bee knock offs. Although I do want to know what that 8-shot pump action is.

Damn, now I really want a Recon CS-6 with a drum clip and streamline darts.

    I haven't had a Nerf fight since I was about 13, though.

If I ever bought one of these toys I know I'd never use it ever.

And I don't see how I could avoid giving it a repaint.

When you just need one hit to kill someone, you want distance, reliability, and accuracy. Noo ther gun will do, and the mod for it is super easy.

This man knows what he is talking about.

    Nite finders are best.

you two need to get your hands on an EX-6 Element

basically it's a nite finder but instead of that shitty little red LED there's storage for two more darts

Well my roommate had replaced the light with a smaller nerf gun, so it all worked out pretty well.

My favorite Nerf weapon of all time was always the Nerf Bow and Arrow.

Back then it used to look like this:
    ryQEx.jpg
Yeah, bright blue and magenta plastic but it fired missiles as big as my fore-arm and had range and accuracy like fucking crazy. As a bonus it was impossible to lose the darts, unlike its suction-cup-launching brethren.
It was so easy to "mod" when my young self figured out that if I shortened the bungee cords attaching the handle to the ends of the bow it would create more tension and therefore more thrust.

Of course, now all Nerf stuff looks awesome so the latest iteration of the bow and arrow is this beast:

I have a fucking arsenal big enough to take out a third world country. The single shot nerf guns are the best because they can't jam on you like mavericks can. That being said, nerf russian roulette is some goddamn awesome fun.

    RE: The Vulcan.

The thing is at it's heart a crew manned weapon. You have a gunner who hoofs the gun+bipod with a sidearm, and a feeder who has a Longshot or Inferior Longshot Equivalent who hoofs the ammo. When it is time to mow some fuckers down with a barrage of harmless foam darts the gunner sets the thing up, and the feeder makes sure the ammo chain doesn't jam.

    This worked surprisingly well.

It can only work better if you mod two 25 shot belts into a 50 shot belt, which is something I should get working on.

EDIT: Oh, and if you have to go it alone the provided ammo box prevents the thing from jamming, just toss the ammo chain in there and load it up.

Okay tofu you tell them about the behemoth

okay fine i will tell them about the behemoth

The Behemoth started out as a regular run of the mill Nightfinder. Or Nightfire? Whatever the name of it is. I did a bunch of mods too it, transforming it into the best sidearm I've ever had. The first mod involved turning the handle into an ammo holder instead of a battery holder, this was super important because of the next mod I did. I took that laser flash light thing right the fuck out and hollowed it out with a dremel and a bunch of sand paper. Why would I do such a thing?

Because I put one of the little one shot pocket sized nerf guns into the hollowed out space.

I took the case off of it so it was basically two tubes stuck together. The trigger was in a place where I could easily fire it with whatever hand I was holding the thing with. It was glorious.

Unfortunately the hot glue holding things in place was shitty so it all kind of fell apart after a few battles. It was super fun while it lasted though, I still have it laying around somewhere.

It was the second Behemoth. The first Behemoth was a modified Longshot with an industrial spring inside of it in addition to the regular spring, that thing was worthy of the title at least

And on that subject, while many of the founding fathers owned slaves, most of them did object in some way to the practice. Most of them, however, lacked the funds to actually release them. In fact, pretty much Washington was the only man wealthy enough to just let all of his slaves go (but he didn't).

See, before the Revolution, the people who owned slaves often did so through loans from England and Europe, and they were passed down from father to son (just like any other property). You could often be caught in a situation where you did not really own your slaves, in the same way that you don't really own a mortgaged house. After the war, you would think that people could just go "Hey fuck you England! We're not responsible for our debts anymore because we hate you!"

But they could not do that, because America was ridiculously weak, and if the leaders of the country defaulted on their debts, they would be in some serious shit.

And that is why Abolitionists still found themselves unwilling owners of slaves in the late 1700s. There was one signer of the Constitution who did release his slaves, I forget his name, and his estate was devastated and he basically lived in poverty for the rest of his life because of it (but on the other hand, he released his slaves)

Apparently, compared to the Longshot, the Longstrike is shitty. It has a high ratio of 'tumble' shots, due to the very long barrel. Unfortunately, here in the UK at least, it's the only viable sniper nerf available. Longshots cost £80ish on Amazon/eBay here.

Someone needs to make a hybrid sport out of shooting people/wargames that's enjoyable to watch.

I work for a paintball company, and while there's a big paintball community out there and some people that get into it, it's a pretty horrible spectator sport since you can't really see what's going on. Especially on TV since it's difficult for a camera to follow both a shooter and his target at the same time, and paintballs tend to whiz by too quickly to be followed by a camera. You just see some guys sprinting around for a few minutes, then someone raises their hands and walks off the field.

Airsoft is even worse for this, there's nothing to see at all.

Nerf would be interesting but for safety reasons nothing can travel quickly enough for the guns to have a decent range or accuracy.

Fun thing to do is grab one of those stomp-rockets and give it a decent handle and stock so you can aim it in a direction other than up. Then you get a buddy to jump on your little air cushion thing.

Damn near knock your target off his feet.
