I hate banks. HSBC just transferred my account to First Niagara, even though the nearest First Niagara branch is 150 miles away. I don't have access to any of that money anymore. All the money I have access to until I get this straightened out is $30 in cash plus maybe another ten bucks in assorted coins. Goddammit.

I'm in the same boat! Santander is taking ten days to send me a new card, none of the money is available for four working days from Thursday.
Luckily I have 500 bucks in my US account. So I can pay five dollars everytime I take out ten pounds (sixteen dollars)! Which killed my Avengers plans : /

I don't have a card because the account it was attached to no longer exists. I didn't even know they took my account got transferred until I bought dinner and my card was rejected. It should be an easy fix, but they can't do it until business hours Monday and there'll be a delay before my old debit card starts working again. I just hope it's a quick delay, because I'm out of groceries and also need to pay for my commute to work.
i don't know who posh's friend is. i hope by this point he has at least managed to make friends with the specter of death that is surely stalking his every step

Has anybody here read Neal Stephenson's new book "Reamde"?
I just finished it and it was pretty rad imo.
Just read about it on Wikipedia.
That premise would make one godawful Law and Order episode. May be a good book tho, as long as N.S. ded his research.
It goes off the rails of the basic plot summary pretty quickly, but it felt like a really well-researched book throughout (although granted I know little about the realities of the subject matter). His acknowledgments at the end were also encouraging in that respect.
It reminded me a lot of Zodiac and Cryptonomicon; I think I like his more "realistic" books better than his sci-fi.

I like it a lot because it removes all of the heavy makeup and shadow-work, just completely deletes them and flattens everything else out

Mornings in fall/winter suck. >.<
Aren't you on the good hemisphere?
The north? Nope, Aussie land.
Plus side: wild kangaroos roaming the land, like furry pilgrims.
Down side: everyone talks funny here and cold mornings in fall/winter

In the spaceship that they strap to it.
Ah, the future be crazy.
I always though that the F-35 looked like a murder turtle.

I love that photo and just found it in my mum's house recently.
It is me, aged 9, winning the village fete fancy dress competition in an entirely home-made costume.
It's all been downhill since then, frankly.

On the black screen
Funny story, I totally saw a HUGE spider climbing up the wall of the house a few months back.
Like, it was the size of my fucking fist.

You aren't grumpy, though.
And just give me a few more weeks of long-ass commutes to and from work. I may very well become exceedingly grumpy.
aaahldueeeeeen
before this post i'd never heard of it
now i've decided it's awful and the world is a worse place for having been exposed to its tepid mediocrity
Oh shit they are.
