A Paul W.S. Anderson film without Milla? Does that make it better or worse?
(I want to say worse because, well, no Milla, but on the other hand I have seen the last two Resident Evil films....)
Well, he did make Mortal Kombat and the good AvP film...
You haven't watched the AvP films in a long time if you think Anderson's boring, slow, pointless movie is better than AvP2, the second best movie in the Aliens franchise.

Wasn't Requiem the torturous train wreck with a pregnant woman getting chest bursted? Yeah, no thanks.

Requiem is a consistently brilliantly shot film where, as you mentioned, a horror movie monster does some horrific things. Oh no, how dare they have their monster do monstrous things, I want all my horror in easily digestible PG-13 slut stabbing format.

Well this is literally the first time I've seen someone have good things to say about it.
The first one is worse. The first one actually had a budget behind it and it couldn't even afford a decent script, much less decent actors (outside Lance Henriksen), decent direction, decent music. Decent anything really. I bet the food on set and accommodations for the actors was decent as best too. The second one recognized it's limitations and tried to adapt to it. The characters, script and pretty much everything were still mediocre but at least they tried to revise the Predator to match what was shown in the original movies and the Aliens were actually horrific. That's something. More than I can say for AvP1.
Red band or otherwise NSFW trailers are fine, as long as they're clearly labeled as such and as long and they aren't basically outright porn.
Presumably nobody will be posting trailers for Hot Lesbian Butt-Sluts IV: The Sluttening.
Addendum: Also make sure the preview image isn't too suggestive, I've been warned for that before.
Wouldn't have even thought of that. Wish YouTube would let you choose a preview from the video when embedding. Would a spoiler tag and "vaguely NSFW" warning be sufficient here? I know the image still loads, but I can't imagine a workplace that allows the PA forums being too worked up over a YouTube preview image (as long as its not on-screen, it shouldn't generate complaints).

If the preview image sucks you can always link instead of inlining it.
Edit: To do this use the [ url ] tags around a youtube link instead of just posting the plain link

This.
I don't know what-all gets cached in a YouTube video, but I know that a spoilered image will still be cached, which is why we disallow the in-lining of NSFW images even behind a spoiler tag.
Since forcing a link is an option, I'd like to play it safe and just say don't inline any video that has an objectionable preview image.

its about men who have a certain interest, getting together with other men who share the same interest. they aren't hurting anyone, they aren't socializing with the shows target audience, they're just trying to find a place to express their passion alongside others like themselves who feel the same.
That's great and all, but it doesn't make it any less creepy. It's creepy as fuck.

Maybe "creepy" is a completely subjective concept that doesn't really mean anything? Why be so judgmental about what other people enjoy? What good does it do anyone other than inflate your own ego?
The US is pretty much the only country that still thinks cartoons are for kids. This is paradoxical because we make truckloads of cartoons that aren't for kids that are mega popular, yet somehow we forget those when we lay the onus down on what is basically animated art drawn and storyboarded by adults.
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

This is an entirely valid way of approaching it when they're keeping their interests within their group. They're doing their thing over here while the greater mass of society tries not to think about them too hard over there.
However, the entire point of this documentary seems to be about starting some sort of conversation about this "hobby". Which means the question is raised whether it's okay that a small but enthusiastic group of men obsess over a children's cartoon to the point that many sexualize its characters and how, exactly, this reflects upon us as a society that a subculture such as this can form.
Apparently Khan has come out against the movie pretty strongly. He said “It is based on gossip and Diana’s friends talking about a relationship that they didn’t know much about, and some of my relatives who didn’t know much about it either. It is based on hypotheses and gossip.”
I don't know, Riddick looks distinctly low-budget to me.
It'll be interesting to see how close to the original budget it is.
Pitch Black was low budget as well ($23 Mil according to Box Office Mojo). You can tell it's low budget in a lot of places (I take that into account when I say it looks beautifully shot), but they don't let the budget stop them from making the film look good. Wikipedia says Riddick has a $38 Mil budget.
There have been several solid* science fiction films made in the 2000s for sub-$50 Mil budgets, I wish studios would catch on that they don't have to spend $150-$300 million to make a movie.
*Solid doesn't mean blockbuster or oscar-worthy. I appreciate oscar-worthy films, but few of them make me want to watch them repeatedly. I'll take an entertaining film that looks good without being full of stupid plot problems any day of the week.

Usually the best sci-fi films are made within limited means.

I don't think that should be plural.
I liked 1, 4, and 5 all more than 2 and 3.

I mean, are we suppose to care about them? Maybe hope they survive?

To each their own, though.

Supposedly, Diesel helped produce this flick with all of his money and would be homeless if it hit production issues that stopped its release.
