I was surprised my basement didn't get flooded. Living at the bottom of a hill sucks when these storms hit. My uncle unfortunately wasn't so lucky. He was telling me the basement flooded, he lost his Fios box, the power went out and I think he said he has no gas or heat.
Update for anyone who cares! Been up since 6:40 and the water was at about 10 inches or so. Been working until now and it's ALMOST gone down three quarters of an inch! Hooray!
Also all the stores are sold out of pumps. BIG SURPRISE
Just had a nice, hot bath. Have discovered that my fingers and hands really hurt. They're all red and achy from the top part of my palm up. Soooo nice to sit down, nice and dry and warm

Priorities man!
anyways I sure wish there was a lot of water around right now
Oh no, it's just that it's raining faster than I can drain the water, and screw that.
Step 2: Buy a Little Giant Pump and hose
Step 3: Attach hose and turn on pump
Step 4: Watter go bye!
Step 5: Profit!
At least the rain is nice to listen to to go to sleep
Please god don't let the water get up to the level of the inner basements
Also all the stores are sold out of pumps. BIG SURPRISE
Alternatively, build your house somewhere that isn't prone to flooding.
That's probably bad huh
Current water level: 9.5 inches
Total water drained since this morning: .5 inches
Legions of sponges!
Burly to the rescue!
WE HAVE A PUMP! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Unfortunately, now we have to sort through the damaged stuff, but it should be relatively easy to just toss it all.
That's awesome to hear. I live in a one story house near the cost in Florida. Hurricanes annoy the shit out of me.
I just wish my fingers would stop hurting!
