It could've ended with DS9, and been pretty much 100% awesome. Instead, it didn't, and isn't.
We are agreed, good sir. I've been re-watching DS9 for the past few months as my friend has the series and I never got to finish it. I really hadn't watched any Trek since the first or second season of Voyager, but I heard they took a great concept and screwed the pooch.

The biggest failing of Firefly, and the reason it got cancelled, was because it felt like it was moving SOOOO slow, due to the fact that they introduced a dozenor so characters all at once, as well as a brand new universe, and then tried to expand on each one, one at a time.
It's just not gonna happen no matter how much we want it.
