I was misinformed! There will be no new gameplay videos this week
Capcom has told Eurogamer that we won't be seeing any new gameplay footage of Resident Evil 5 released this week despite reports to the exciting contrary.
According to the publisher, the special DVD attached to Famitsu in Japan this Friday will only contain an interview with a producer on the title, not a fresh glimpse at the action as our chums at ThreeSpeech suggest.
The disc has been created to celebrate 25 years of Capcom, and could reveal some fresh information about the hotly anticipated survival-horror game. So, expect more around Friday, and until then just imagine you're staring at door slowly opening on a black background like in the old days.
Or perhaps adventure over to our Resident Evil 5 gamepages for 360 and PS3 to catch up on what we know so far.

GameVideos.comSo, what's the news?
Well, we don't know, exactly, but there will be a video and an interview. It really comes from
This. What it means:
Capcom Japan announced today a special DVD to commemorate its 25th anniversary. The Capcom 25th Anniversary Special DVD, to be included with the issue of Weekly Famitsu that's due out on the 28th, will include features on Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, some western games, and (drum roll please) Resident Evil 5.
That's right, after a long silence, the next entry in the Resident Evil series will be resurfacing. Capcom is promising exclusive footage and even an interview.
While we're not sure when this footage will be made public outside of the Famitsu bundle, at the very least, you can expect more details on the game in a few days.
The announcement of this DVD actually came through a special 25th anniversary page Capcom Japan set up at its website. This presumably means the start of a variety of promotions as the company's June 11 founding date approaches.
This seems like a bit much for what's essentially a preview for a news post.
Yes, it is. But I am excited, and I suspect my excitement to be
contagious.

This makes me want to buy an Xbox360/PS3. Maybe the interview will include an answer to why his arms are mutant-large. Was he infected by nemesis?
P.S. Wii announcement?
P.P.S. I'm going to hell, I know.
I think they have said its not africa, but Haiti if im not mistaken.
I kid, I kid. :P
Looking forward to more not-zombie race-baiting!
You forgot one:
I normally don't allow myself to get sucked into hype for games that are way, way off in the future, but RE5 will be one of the few titles I let myself get giddy over.
Also
That's cold, Obi-Wan.
Thanks for your stunning contribution to this thread!

Well, shit.
Thanks for the heads up, I just wish I had seen this before making the thread.
I'll change the title, I guess.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't work for Capcom anymore.
FUCK
YEAH
Also, Resi 5 if it turns out looking like that has the best graphics of any game yet released.
It's Haiti- they're paying homage to the origin of zombie stories by placing it there.
Indeed.
Unless it sucks. I'm a little worried since the RE4 team isn't on this one and it is pretty clear RE5 is taking it's cues from RE4.
Can you blame him, after what Capcom did to him and RE4?
he worked for capcom
it was kind of his own dumb fault for claiming it wouldn't go anywhere else
Damn.

An RE/WH40K crossover would be awesome.
Albert Wesker, Chaos Space Marine and servant of the Changer of Ways.
You heard it here first.

LUNKER!
Haven't seen you in awhile.
Ah yes RE5. Thoroughly looking forwards to more information to this game.
To be perfectly honest, for the US release, I really wouldn't mind if they replaced Chris Redfield with a black friend of his.
Kind of hard for the RE4 team to work on RE5 when Production Studio 4 doesn't exist anymore. RE5's dev team still has plenty of guys that previously worked on RE games though. Jun Takeuchi worked on RE1 and RE2, Kenichi Ueda worked on a ton of RE games (RE3, REmake, REC:V, RE4, RE Zero and RE Outbreak), etc.
Oh and quite whining about a Wii version, it isn't happening. You can't port PS3/360 games to the Wii, it's just not powerful enough. So if they did do RE5 for the Wii, they'd pretty much have to start from scratch; new textures, new engine, new character models, etc.
As for Chris' arms, they didn't look as bad in the last trailer but yeah, they look kind of freakish in that screen.
Zombie Forest?
people have been complaining about the 'hoping for wii version!!' posts for yonks now, and they're still going strong, i just don't think it's worth commenting on it now
I still don't understand how this particular molehill even looks like a mountain.
I still don't understand how they can even think it's possible. The Wii just isn't that powerful, how is that hard to understand? It doesn't have much RAM, it's CPU isn't particularly powerful and its GPU is outdated. They may as well ask for a DS port of RE4.
