Yeah, the comments were very well thought out. It's always nice to see someone that deserves it very well thrashed intellectually! I just don't see how anyone ever thought this was a good idea. It sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen!

Two words... Metroid hat.

I think I'll likely pin them all to whatever bag I carry around with me. Although I've had plans on making a video game related kutte for some time.

It's for identification! How's that conceited? It's just like wearing a "hello, my name is ____" button. it's so we can find others on the board, and exchange pretty buttons!

I can't for the life of me think of why someone would post in a thread just to say they want nothing to do with this unless they were implying that they thought we were conceited as well. Would wearing a button of yourself be any more conceited than having an avatar of yourself? Same concept.

Hm.

SHIT, I SHOULD WEAR ALL OF MY BUTTONS AT ONCE.

Now then I'd be conceited.

So, I've had a first attempt (well, actually third!) at creating a red identification button. I tried just typing the text, but it came out thick and horrid, so I've mouse-drawn it. I'll probably try again with pen and ink, and scan/photo it.

"]paxbuttonfy1.th.jpg

I think I'll need to make the text a bit darker, and add some sparkles to it!

Just got my buttons in today and they look great! Each of you may have one.

They're a bit smaller than I expected, but it's cool; the picture quality is better than I thought it would be.

I'll be very easy to recognise - red hair, red T-shirt, red and silver sparkly tiara, and with a sheepish looking LewieP in tow. (also wearing RED!)

I WILL BE WATCHING OUT FOR YOU BECAUSE THAT IS AWESOME!

(and sorry this is about 3 pages late :/ )

and i've decided that i'll be putting my collected pins on my bag that i'll have with me at all times ^^ hopefully it'll be completely covered by the end of con. that way its still visible, but i don't have to worry about space or moving them from shirt to shirt. now just to decide which picture of zero suit samus i should use for my own pin...

here they all are:

aren't they fab!

I've been thinking about the red identification ones i'm going to get next - how many do people think I should get - I thought 50 at first, cos I think that's the minimum you can have made, but I think we'll only need 20 or so - then I thought I could sell the rest at PAX, to cover the cost of them. What do you guys think? Is that a bit mean, should I just plan to give them away?

I'm not sure what you mean by "red identification ones". If i ever see that stained-glass dove button, I know I'm either looking at you, or someone who beat you in a challenge.

I'm just buying 50 buttons and plan on giving away 49 of them.

Could anyone throw together a badge design from this with my name on it. I have no image manipulation skills, and anything I have done in MSpaint looks awful.

I want just my Avatar with "LewieP" on it.

This came up earlier in the thread - how would we know if someone was just wearing badges, or was part of the crazy mad swapping badges group of people. Lewie suggested something, that most people didn't get, I squashed him (I'm allowed, cos I'm his mummy) and suggested red ones a) cos I like red, and b) cos they're not green (stupid people doing stuff with green badges, again earlier in the thread).
So, I had a go at a red badge, that has PAX 2008 Button swap on it, and wanted to know what people thought.
