I just had a thought. What if this is to announce the specific official venue of PAX08, which is going to be on the east coast.
I doubt it.
I'm fairly certain they said that when they go to the east coast that it'll be a second PAX. I don't see them ever stopping the west coast PAX's...I hope at least...

Oh, I had thought that EastPAX was supposed to be instead of WestPAX for that year, not in addition to.
If they do two, that would be cool. It would reduce the overcrowding a bit.

In fact, he said that expansion plans are afoot. Not only will the Bellevue convention change locations next year, Penny Arcade plans an East Coast version of PAX in 2008, specific location as yet undecided. "Actually," Khoo comments, "most of our readers are on the East Coast."
Could go either way, really. Hopefully Khoo can clarify?

I recently spoke to Khoo on this matter on IRC the other day. I had brought up bringing PAX East to Cleveland due to our hub-like connections between the eastern seaboard and the midwest in addition to several north/south routes ending here. He seemed intrigued by the idea of a PAX Ohio, but also said that bicoastal PAXes would call for an "aggressive timetable." I don't know if this helps any, but it's what I know.
I wouldn't put my money on a regular full length animated series or anything, but vignettes would be good. Something like that would work real well for the re-birth of techTv (aka, undoTV) currently in the works.
could be an animated series based on their work, not about gaming, something to appeal to a wider audience.
could be sideshow collectible maquettes based on the strip.
could be ham.
could be free circumcisions to all PAX attendees.
But, what if I'm already circumcised?

No. They don't announce that until the final round itself.

I knew it!
Then you get uncircumcised.
When did Khoo become Catsby?
That's a pretty big announcement.
Perhaps. Perhaps.
Still hoping for that Wii!
