Oh, hey, looks like they didn't mean to release the toy cars and the boost specials, and they're back down now.
Unless you already got them.

Anyway, The Legendary cars are out, they're paid DLC, so you have to buy them. What they also put out there, (and I don't know if it's still there, or if it was an accident like the Toy Cars and the Boost Specials) is an option to pay 400 points to immediately unlock all the cars from the normal game. The cars you'd normally unlock by winning events and advancing, you can now pay some money and just get them right away.

So the Cops and Robbers expansion is out for this.
It's ten bucks, and it includes a new Cops and Robbers play mode, and new cop car versions of all the basic original cars. 33 new cars in all.
Now they just need to finally release goddamn Big Surf Island, for fuck's sake.

Okay so cops and robbers is basically team single-flag CTF. There's a pile of gold, you run over it to pick it up, and you try to drive back to your team's base with it. The gold slows you way down, and if you take out the guy with the gold, you get the gold.
There's no boost, and everyone drives the same car, which is selected by whoever's running the game. They will probably select either something shitty, like the Oval Champ Shitmobile, or something boring, like the GT Concept. Also, they will turn off all traffic, because they are fucking babies.
As with pretty much any multiplayer anything, it's probably way more fun if you're playing with people you know instead of random assholes.

Man it seems like Cops and Robbers would be awesome if everyone could just pick their own car. They did a pretty good job of balancing speed versus strength in this game, so I think even the fastest cars would have a hard time dealing with a Burnout van on defense.

I totally love this game.
Also, I fucking hate Rock Band and other music games because any time I go to the New Arrivals of the Game Add-ons section, all but two things will be fucking songs for Rock Band or Lips or Guitar Hero. Fucking heaven forbid they just have one item be "New Rock Band Songs for <date>" and then leave some room for something else.

It boggles my mind it is online multiplayer only, that shit just does not make sense.

Yeah I mean it's great that games have multiplayer functionality which lets you play people on line.
But sometimes I just want to shoot shit with a friend and play videogames with them while they are in the same room.
