I got this game for Vivienne the other day as her copy was *cough cough*.
It boggles my mind it is online multiplayer only, that shit just does not make sense.
Local multi would be nice and fun but in an open-world racing game like this, to be generating that much shit at the speeds you go on two separate screens without slowdown just doesn't seem plausible or even possible.
Oh, hey, looks like they didn't mean to release the toy cars and the boost specials, and they're back down now.

Anyway, The Legendary cars are out, they're paid DLC, so you have to buy them. What they also put out there, (and I don't know if it's still there, or if it was an accident like the Toy Cars and the Boost Specials) is an option to pay 400 points to immediately unlock all the cars from the normal game. The cars you'd normally unlock by winning events and advancing, you can now pay some money and just get them right away.
The guy who came up with the idea of monetizing cheat codes needs to be kicked in the dick.

also for those looking for local multiplayer, the Ultimate Box edition has some sort of offline local multi capability
