I've recently started trying to do a few really fast digital paintings every day in the hopes that I will one day learn to do really fast digital paintings. Or digital paintings at all, really. Usually one from life and one from my ass. GUESS FROM WHENCE THIS CAME.
Squid: I guess: a photo. What did I win?
That's quite impressive for an AIPTEK tablet pic. I used to own one but the lines were so shaky that I was forced to sell it due to incoming hysteria. (Although I suspect it might have been broken from the beginning).
Seriously it is awful and yes, shaky, but it had seemed perfectly sufficient until I started wanting to JUST paint digitally. Now I'm seeing how truly assy it really is.
And yeah, a photo. I guess: that you saw it on my main page. What do I win?
Here's another quickie digital paint I did for a friend. EDIT: I am aware the pig's head looks like it's floating.
Personally I think thats pretty amazing for a "quickie" painting Squidbunny. I sutter to think what I will be posting as I start learning how to use my tablet.
Well a few hours were involved; it wasn't a sketch but I wouldn't say it was a real, finished project, either.
Thanks though, really. I'd appreciate any crits on it.
EDIT: May: I'm flattered that people keeping suggesting that but the commitment scares me as I am a slacker. Maybe I'll get in on the next one, if I haven't been run off by then.

That is great, reminds me of simon the sorceror for some reason. Only crit is that the guy (who should be the focus of the pic) gets lost a bit, he could use some more contrast to make the eye rest on him. As it is the eye travels over his knees and to the fire which is by far the weakest part of the picture. Apart from that, great stuff!

Hmm for some reason my eyes arnt getting drawn to the guys knees...:winky:
That's really good Squid. I remember you said somewhere that you were going to possibly switch to lineless art for your webcomic. Just my subjective opinion here, but I really like your line-work, and I think it works well for the comic. The lineless style is really nice, but I don't think I'd like it as much if you did your whole comic that way.

Peguino: The above picture looks like it would look good with the outline matching the adjacent color (a darker shade of blue for the outline as opposed to black.)

Yes, I'm aware the shading is off :P
Thoughts?
Edit> Sublimus, The yellow outline for the text on the new one looks much more Jaw-some, although I find the old ones has more interesting lines.
I like the character, but I don't like the back-lit effect. At least, I think it's a little too strong in this particular image.
Glow = Gone :P
Wow! Cool, it preserved transparency
Also I noticed something with the linework on the feet. where the heels come together.
