HOLY SHIT

Made the mistake of watching this alone tonight, for the first time. Scariest thing I have ever seen. The sound, the pacing, the camera work, all of it excellent.

Even the experimental electronica soundtrack was creepy as hell.

Modern horror movies are shit.

I would agree on the excellence, but damn, scary?

My jewish father went and saw this when it first was released in theaters.

I find it funny that an extremely Christian/Catholic kind of thing can scare someone of any religion.

I saw an ad for it when it was on TNT or something back when I was 10 and it freaked me THE FUCK OUT even though I know I had seen the "Movie Magic" episode about the effects in the film already.

Those movies are terrible and my thread is about movies that actually scare people like The Shining and Alien and The Thing and The Exorcist and such as those

the Saw franchise has no redeeming qualities

Can we just talk about Freddy Kreuger for the next ten pages?

The guy had so many ridiuclous was to kill people, he was basically a nightmarish cartoon character.

In one of the films he possesses a televison set that sprouts arms and legs.

Oh hey there's a video wtih a bunch of Freddy Murders, from films 1-7.

A lot of it's pretty gruesome, just so you know.

edit: I have to be honest, I chuckled a little when Freddy cuts the skydiver's parachute, and then wheels out a bed of nails right where he lands. He is such a cartoon character.

I am so unbelievably easily scared by the lamest of horror movie tricks

Japanese Ring? I managed to watch that and didn't jump too much

American Ring? Could hardly bear to look

The Orphanage? Fuck that, I knew what was coming half the time, I knew, but I was still so shit scared I only saw about a third of the movie because the rest of the time my hands were over my eyes

Same with any 12 or 15 rated horror movie; What Lies Beneath, etc.

Try watching the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre by yourself in a dark room. Hoo boy is that movie intense.

I got to see it in an actual movie theater once. Everyone there was heckling at the beginning of the film, but after the chainsaw started roaring it got sooooooo quiet...
