I actually worked at the aquarium a few days ago. doing HVAC stuff up in the Australia exhibit. So much fun opening a hatch and climbing up a ladder to see 5 vampire bats about 50 feet away from you.
Fun story: About 5 years ago, a guy from my company inadvertently killed 3 seahorses when he forgot to turn the water chiller unit back on.

I was on the way to the second job interview. First was over the phone and then they brought me down.
They asked why I looked so frazzled. I could only respond by asking what the hell those things were.
And lost, I've never had the chocolate covered but I did have it tempura style.
However, I don't think you're grasping the way that these things encompass the capital region every 7 or so years.
This is not a few off in the marsh chirping you to sleep. This is almost a plague of biblical proportions with millions of bugs screaming for 2-3 weeks straight. Accidents all over the roads, restaurants cooking them to help stem the tide. Going outside and just getting fucking run over by these things.
the cicadas I am thinking about only come every 17 years, so I think we have a few more years. It is the most incredible thing. I would go out at night to watch them molt into their adult stage, it's like that alien coming out of the dude's chest.
