DAWN OF WAR 2
Dawn of War 2 is the newest RTS set in the grimdark future of the 41st millennium by Relic. Described as taking the best parts of the original DoW combined with Company of Heroes, this game places an emphasis on quick action over memorizing build orders and perfecting your pixel clicking. And by that I mean that there is no base building.
The game has two distinct portions, with the single player campaign being a completely different beastie from the multiplayer. The single player campaign is for the SM only (though campaigns for other races seems like an obvious DLC money maker *hint hint*). It's a persistent rpg like squad based tactical game with emphasis on building up and using a handfull of squads for the whole campaign. For more information you can see this link, beware the minor spoilers.
In the multiplayer portion of the game you can choose from Eldar, Orks, Space Marines, and Tyranids. As time allows I or someone else will provide individual write ups on the various races, but for right now just remember that all you need to do in order to win as Eldar is to mass banshees. Unless you are on my team, then you should try something else.

Here I wrote the space marine part of the OP
Space Marines
Look at this guy, even the Ultramarines which are by far the most boring legion are gigantic badasses. Marneus Augustus Calgar isn't even in DoW2 but that dude dual-wields Powerfists with guns built into them, he would probably kill you by accident if seeing him didn't make you kill yourself first.
Ok so the DoW2 marine commander has a bad case of(click his frosted tips) BUT he will still break your face off with a Force Hammer. And probably make you feel kind of effeminate for losing to him.
But whoa you say, what are Space Marines anyway? Well when you take the weak, mortal form of a human and pump him full of drugs, extra organs (3 hearts, couple extra lungs, one that lets you spit acid ETC) and make his ribcage into a steel plate and train him so his only purpose in life is killing dudes you want not to live anymore, you get a Space Marine!
Oh and the best part of Space Marines are the Dreadnoughts. You put a nearly dead Space Marine in a giant walking tomb-mech and let him crush the other team into paste.
MP is handled via GFWL, there is a partial list of people's gamer tags below but the best way to meet up with people is via the G&T vent server. Check the sticky in this forum for the server info and how to donate for it's upkeep. Trust me when I say that the game is a LOT better when playing with/against fellow PA folks. 3v matched games when your team mates are pubbies might just be a special plane of hell.

Also Maraxus, pretty sure when Croak says live he means the auth servers are online. Which means people who got the game through retailers breaking the street date will be able to activate and play. Doesn't mean Steam has released it for download, yet.

Install Steam to a hard drive other than C. All of your games have to go in the Steam directory.
So in the previous thread, people were asking about using Steam's file integrity business to use the beta files to skip some of the download. Any truth to this idea or is it all lies and heresy? Because I would love me some fast downloading.

Warrior Brood - Venom Cannon (VC) upgrade:
Equip your Warriors with VCs and become absolutely fucking hated. Now your warriors are anti-infantry and anti-vehicle, as well as providing a ranged synapse.
The Ranged Synapse gives a +30% overall damage increase to your little termagaunts, and gives them the ever annoying ability to knockdown. At a 25% chance per each of the eight little fuckers, two squads can nearly permanently knock down a hero! Eat it, Space Elf!
You should also add into the OP that making jokes about Eldar being Gay are old and you're dumb for saying them.
That's more than a little awesome, actually.
By the way anyone got any tips for early game SM? I was mostly going Heavy Bolter as my first squad, then getting ASM, scout shotguns and then teching to 2. I was doing TACs over the Devastators at first, but I think I like Devs too much.
