You take control of an armada and command your units to move in full, true 3D.

There has been serveral times for me, both in the campaign and elseware, where I wasn't attack from behind, or from the sides, but from above and below

Here I wrote the space marine part of the OP

    Space Marines
    space-marine-picture-02.jpg

Look at this guy, even the Ultramarines which are by far the most boring legion are gigantic badasses. Marneus Augustus Calgar isn't even in DoW2 but that dude dual-wields Powerfists with guns built into them, he would probably kill you by accident if seeing him didn't make you kill yourself first.

Ok so the DoW2 marine commander has a bad case of sm_force_commander.png (click his frosted tips) BUT he will still break your face off with a Force Hammer. And probably make you feel kind of effeminate for losing to him.

But whoa you say, what are Space Marines anyway? Well when you take the weak, mortal form of a human and pump him full of drugs, extra organs (3 hearts, couple extra lungs, one that lets you spit acid ETC) and make his ribcage into a steel plate and train him so his only purpose in life is killing dudes you want not to live anymore, you get a Space Marine!

    warhammer-blue-gold.jpg

Oh and the best part of Space Marines are the Dreadnoughts. You put a nearly dead Space Marine in a giant walking tomb-mech and let him crush the other team into paste.

Huh, the army painter seems to be a step back, IMO. Preset colors, can't choose the saturation or hue, and the patterns are only available for SM (though we have known that for months).

Not overly impressed. OTOH, the metallics sure do look shiny.

What strikes me is how rigid Relic's in-game UI is with DoW2. What I mean by that is how everything is iconized and very snugly placed with no room for extra. This will make things incredibly difficult for modders, which may have been their intention. Want to add a new race? Tough, we didn't put any room there for you. Gotta make your own UI first, suckas.

It seems a great leap back from the original DoW's UI design, which while functional, was also incredibly data driven and easily moddable with drop-down boxes for race selection instead of massive icons, which while pretty, are unnecessary.

It will be interesting to see how Relic themselves cram the extra icons in there when they start releasing new races for the game.

At 83 preset colours, unless I miscounted, whether or not you preordered is also going to give you nearly 10% more avaliable paint swatches.

Which leads me to the question of why the hell cant anyone on this earth tell me whether canadian eb games have the ebgames/gamestop preorder bonus.

I've probably spent an hour on the phone with various places trying to figure this out, which I have to say I'm not entirely thrilled I've had to do, much less that this hour has largely been wasted as I still dont have a god damn answer.

What I mean by that is that everything is big. Big buttons, big pictures, and even the text often looks over-sized. The circle of dots that shows you the range of an ability is made up of big dots.

The interface may not be that great to use on a console as it stands, but it looks like the whole thing was designed to be seen on a TV.
