All women in Sweden are fucking babes: Fact.

I recently found out that, actually, all Swedish women and men that are allowed to leave Sweden are hot as FUCK while everyone still in the country is like average looking

that's not entirely true but seriously

it's like they're allowed to be exported if they're just hot enough to fool foreigners into thinking that everyone in the country looks like that and thus luring in unwary tourists

Hey, I'll take average. I'll take anything, I don't care!

No! It was just a single bed, with shelving around, a shallow wardrobe and mirror opposite

totally gonna have a day bed in my TV room when I move out.

I tell you what IKEA is not good for

    Sofas

Although I did see one leather sofa that actually came pretty close to my ideal

I like the big sofas you can sink into with the low-rise arms that can also act as pillows

IKEA's sofa arms are generally way too high and they make one sit up

I want to lounge on a sofa

If I want to sit up I'll grab a chair

My mother has something like that, except it's a coffee table with a glass top and dark oaky looking wood around it. Then there are these black leather-like cushioned ottomans that slide in underneath. Very cool.

    Also, god bless the Swedes

"space friendly" is the most disappointing phrase in the english language

t janson you know what else ikea isn't that great for

    beds

they look nice but they really aren't very structurally solid. the mattresses are merely okay.

Unless it is the cheapest bed ever and you just want to save money never buy an IKEA bedframe.

Their idea of single (or any bed size) isn't the traditional size so you have to buy their stuff.

Yeah, unless I was a student, I wouldn't buy an IKEA bed either

This mattress and bed we have aren't IKEA; the mattress is some horribly expensive deluxe shit with adjustable pressure and a wool topping which I think we need to start paying back Mori's mother for

    Next step: Sort out closet

Then: Buy some unit for the kitchen that will contain our oven and microwave

Then: I might look into more furnishings and lighting; our overhead light is harsh

    i must say this though

some of ikea's stuff is getting cheaper

worse wood and changed assembly and such

i had a Billy bookcase from years back and got a tall one recently

the wood is cheaper and instead of metal bolts held in by twist-caps on the end shelves like there used to be, it's just the metal bolts

    :|

and also they stopped selling the Jerker desk for some reason, which is dumb. It's an amazing desk and they don't sell anything else even approaching in quality to it right now.

Oh, well, why thank you, then

I'm pretty particular about furniture, which is funny considering that I have a lot of white particle board stuff right now

But, white is really best in our small space, and particle board is cheap but sturdy

    Here is the awful part

We had to undo all the packages to get the expedit stuff into the car

Then in getting it together, which was a logistical nightmare in our apartment, we scraped it a few times

Normally this would bug the HELL out of me. If there is one thing I hate it is scratched or damaged furniture and there's not much you can do to repair particle board

So. I got the white-out and actually painted over the little nicks and scratches. And actually, it doesn't bother me nearly as much as I thought. You can't see it unless you get really close now.
