Real show choir festivals usually have rules in effect to prevent groups from just relying on one or two strong singers and keeping the rest as backups. You can do songs with solo parts, but the majority of each song has to be done by the chorus itself. I love the show enough to get over the things they are making up in order to have an interesting show. The show wouldn't be as exciting if they were rehearsing the same songs each week, doing shows around the community to raise money, not being pregnant, etc.
Had it existed at the time we probably WOULD have danced to Single Ladies during the big game. That wouldn't, like, be a foul at all during the middle of an actual match
