    Okay

You know to be perfectly honest I didn't even play Mega Man as a kid

    Try this on for size:

I didn't play MegaMan until I started listening to the Protomen about two months ago. I went and bought the anniversary collection, and I've nearly beaten all 8 games. All while listening to the Protomen in the background.

    Because I'm insane.

No it's not. I could make a list of ways my time could have been better spent than watching that trailer, but considering it'd start with "staring blankly into space" it would take too long.

EDIT: Making the list would be the second item on the list.

Right. You can either watch the trailer, or stare blankly into space, or any of the other things on your list.

This is one more thing you can do, should you choose to do so. Which hurts absolutely nobody.

no because if nothing at all existed I could still have the megaman movie in my head. Now that something has been made it has shattered the imagined version of itself, which was far better, so in this case, it would be better to literally have nothing tangible at all.

It hurt me, because I watched the trailer not knowing any better, and I fear that the movie may trick other poor souls. That's a minute and change that I'm not getting back.

note: arguing about the trailer has been more rewarding than the trailer itself.

My strongest memory of Megaman was my entire family huddled around the tv playing the first or second one (whichever had Ice Man), learning the levels and helping each other out, figuring out that some powers are best for other bosses adn such, and trying to figure out the ideal sequence to defeat the game.

It was a tough goddamn game, back when there were no saves and passwords were thirty-character monstrosities that inevitably were written down in hard, dull pencil in the notes page of the manual with at least one or two wrong characters, rendering them entirely useless.

I have to say, with playing the collection, that they baby you a bit too much now. With the saves and all, I actually end up with about 6 or 7 lives at the end of every level, and sometimes actually die on purpose so that I can start a level with a fresh 5. It's not much of a challenge. There are still many moments where even those 5 lives will not get you through a particular level's madness, but it is nowhere near the hellish nightmare challenge it once was.

I don't think Megaman 1 even had passwords.

Also Speed has made the full transformation. I should probably change my sig too.

It really wasn't a hellish nightmare challenge. You were just bad at the games when you were kids.

Shannon and I played through the NES series a few years ago on the NES and it was easy as hell. It's not that the gamecube made it easier, you've just gotten better at the game.

I'll tell you what's hard: playing through Megaman 3 doing a no weapon run.

As a child I never beat the dragon on Megaman 2.

Megaman 2 was very brutal up until you figured out what weapons work.

Like the fact that you can only kill Wily's final form with bubble man's power.
