Introduction
The last thing you remember was walking home at the end of a normal, uneventful day.
And then you woke up here.
An old building, smelling of dust and things long dead.
As you try to find your bearings, you notice 2 objects.
First, the metal collar around your neck.
Second, the PDA softly glowing next to you.
Who brought you here?
Why?
More importantly, will you make it out alive?
The Secret Game is beginning...
OP
Rules
This is a forum game based on the Japanese PS2/PC visual novel "Secret Game". Prior knowledge is not necessary. Mechanically, this is a phase-based combat game, much like the Phalla Royales and recent Fire Emblem game. Despite its similarities, this is not a Phalla. There will be no public execution votes, or village vs mafia. Every player has their own win condition. Disclaimer: not all win conditions are equal. Some people will have an easier time than others. So it goes.
At the end of each day, there will be an Attack Phase, followed by a Move Phase. The end of each day occurs at 1AM EDT.
Attack Phase
Each day, you may attack one target. The chance of success is based on your Attack stat against the defender's Defense stat, and the damage dealt is determined by the weapon used and any protective gear the defender is wearing. All attacks occur simultaneously, so it's perfectly possible for 2 people to kill each other.
If you have a short-range weapon equipped, you can only attack someone in your area. If you have a long-range weapon equipped, you may attack someone in your area or an adjacent area. Some weapons can target entire areas instead of individual people. In these cases, the chance of a successful hit will be calculated for each person being attacked, e.g. you might hit 2 people and miss 3. Using such a weapon in your own area will not hurt yourself.
Unless otherwise stated, all weapons have unlimited uses.
Upon killing someone, you will receive all items they had in their possession. If multiple people shared the kills, the items will be distributed randomly. If your target is wearing a collar and you wish to take it from them if they die, you must specify that in the attack order. Otherwise it will remain on the corpse, and anyone in the area may later take it by spending a move point.
Unarmed attacks have a +0 Attack bonus and do 30 damage on a successful hit.
Movement Phase
Players get 3 movement points each night. Points can be spent as follows -
Move to an adjacent area
+4 Defense against traps you come across (this can be stacked)
Set up a trap kit in your current area (assuming you have one in your inventory)
Remove a collar from a corpse
As your move order, you may choose to follow someone in your area or an adjacent area. You will do your best to take the same route they do.
While following, you may still spend movement points to increase your guard against traps, but this will obviously make it more likely that you will not able to move far enough to reach your target's destination.
When sending in move orders, you must provide the complete path you are taking, not just your destination. Attack and move orders will be sent by PM. For the sake of my poor inbox, please try to combine these orders into a single PM if possible.
Allies
Players may ally with one another at any time by announcing their intentions in blue. Both players must do this before it is official. Allying yourself with someone grants 2 benefits:
When you are attacked, you will receive a +2 to your Defense for every ally you have in your area or the attacker's.
When attacking an ally, you will automatically hit and do an additional 30 damage.
Alliances may also be revoked at any time, again by announcing in blue. Only one person has to do this to break an alliance.
To ask for clarifications on these rules, send a PM or ask in orange. Bear in mind that many of the mechanics are deliberately hidden, so clarifications are likely to be denied.
Disclaimer the 2nd: This bears repeating. This game is not particularly balanced. The rules were written with the feel of the original valued over being fair. If this game gets run again, certain mechanics will likely be changed significantly. This version is intended for fun and to see how well the format works on a forum.
This game may run up to and through Memorial Day weekend. As a courtesy to everyone, please be sure that you will be able to participate during that time before signing up.

It was a joke, I swear!
Right, that...
edit:
As customary, I'll !take the last spot
... What?
Oh I see what you did there. Very clever.
I will say this right here and right now that I will not under any circumstances be an ally to any of you other than Kime, because if Kime was to backstab anyone, he'd never hear the last of it. Ever.
It was horribly butchered. I think, though, he's complimenting my loyalty? Or he's threatening me that I'll be tormented forever if I ever betray him, one of the two.

Also, awesome, I got a spot.
Edited to what it was originally supposed to say. Jesus shit I need sleep...
And in response to Kime: A little from column A, and a little from column B.
[yes that was lame]
