I'm liking the conflict with the Aryans, and the porn storyline is okay simply for comic relief, but I keep wondering when we're gonna get to the meat of the story.
I'm worried we got cockteased at the end of season one, and they're saving what we thought we'd get in season two for season three.

I guess it was kind of like this in season 1. As much as I like the clown episode, and the Devil's Tribe episode, their connection to the whole Clay-Jax were tangentially at best. Does anyone know if this season is 13 episodes like last season (Isn't that the norm for FX?) or is it more?

I think some important stuff is happening. Gemma/Clay's relationship is weakening, Jax is taking more and more of a leadership role, the law situation is complicating and becoming more interesting.
Even if this whole season is simply progress of this nature I won't be too disappointed. So far all the "filler" is adding depth to the main conflict's dynamic in small but important ways.
The whole Gemma/Clay thing is actually making me start to feel some sympathy for Clay, where up to this point I thought of him as a dick in his best moments and outright despicable most of the time.
I got the distinct impression he was thinking of Gemma while he was with that chick at the wrap party. A lot of us close our eyes when we get head, it was something in his expression on top of that.

Really, I'm just going to quote myself here and point to this weeks episode.
i think im enjoying this season more than the first so far. certainly made me laugh more which im guessing is going to make things seem a whole lot more brutal when the shit goes down.

I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.
...I'm actually starting to like Tigg in a weird twisted way.
Tig's a good soldier.
Yeah he is. I'm starting to get this weird feeling Tig is going to end up on Jax's side and Opie is going to end up on Clay's.
Speaking of which I want to backhand Opie more and more with each passing episode.
I think that was made pretty clear at the end of this weeks episode, with the confrontation between Op/Jax.
Has anyone else noticed that everytime a big problem comes up, Jax is the one to figure out some great solution? It's like Clay would be best tackling the small twitch reaction problems, while Jax is thinking far more long term.
That Op will end up backing Clay? I'm going to say maybe for now. It's too early for me to rule out intentional misdirection on the writers part. In fact how early it is in the season would kind of make me lean towards that if I had to make a definate call right now. I still wanna slap him though :P
If you're talking about Tig... well, that's more of a shot in the dark on my part I think. I can see it happening because it'd be pretty surprising becuase while the show has done a lot to show that Tig is loyal to a fault I'm not sure if he's loyal more to Clay or the Club. I do think Jax bought himself some Tiggy points last episode though though.

Yes I was basically saying I see Opie siding with Clay. It's the perfect kind of sick shit the show would pull. Then Jax will get Tig to open up to him and tell him about the hit. This will of course have the potential to drive Opie off the deep end and destroy the club, so Jax will use it as leverage to learn more about Clay/his Father.
Wow, if I'm even remotely right I want a damn prize at the end of this season.
I am a little curious how the fuck they expected to plant a car bomb and just walk away with it. Nazi-ette wasn't wearing gloves or anything when she got out of it.
Of course, I was thinking this and then I realized they might plan on extorting Hale to clamp down on any forensic investigation into them.

I think Hale will fall in line. This is based off the previews for next week but
it looked to me in that brief chunk of conversation they showed between him and Gemma that he's about to give the club free reign in this instance. She said something like "you really want to hurt this guy" and he was all "yeah I do." So pure wild conjecture on my part, I'm thinking he tell's her he knows about the rape and wants her to tell Clay and Jax. And that he's good with whatever happens as a consequence of that. Hell, if the Sons are thorough enough about it we could have a Michael Scott Win-Win-Win. Hale has no one surviving to extort him, the Sons get their retaliation (and it maybe even eases things temporarily between Jax and Clay), and the town of Charming rids itself of some nasty Aryan fucks.
Seriously, I almost feel bad for Zobell's kid. That's a character with a defacto red shirt if I ever saw one, and she was probably brainwashed into her current line of work.
Tig is blind action. He's completely loyal to Clay first and the club second. Still loyal to the club, but that's because he sees Clay as the club. So I doubt he's ever going to leave Clay's side, no matter the reason.
Opie, on the other hand...I see Jax threatening to tell Op, then Clay getting to him first and attempting to pin his wife's murder on Jax. But Opie's story is not going to end well, and it will likely put the nail in the coffin for his father as well.
Also, keep in mind that Zobell isn't like the other gangs they deal with. As they said, he has a lot more money and resources at his disposal. It's not the same kind of fight SAMCRO has dealt with before. When it escalates, especially if his daughter turn out to be a red shirt, expect the whole Aryan army coming to Charming and flat out walking into the garage and the club house in broad daylight to stir shit up.
Yeah, go take a look at the amount of bikers that show up in charming at the end of season 1, that's not a small organisation.
Hell, even for the blood drive ride there was a good amount.

Happened to be rewatching season 1, the pilot in particular. There's a scene where Gemma hands Jax's ex-wife a bible with a syringe in it. I freeze framed it and I made out that the page the syringe was open to (best I could figure) was the First book of Kings, chapter 3. For those of you who don't know, that's the chapter that has the famous Solomon and the cutting the Baby into half story.
Considering the scene's dialouge is Gemma basically stealing Abel from his mother ("He'll never call you Mommy") because Gemma cares more about the child's well being, I thought it was a great touch.
This show has never been too concerned with forensic evidence, but I assumed that the bomb would destroy any fingerprints, and the car is probably registered to a fake name.

Seriously, no one watched this?
I ended up missing the first half, and had to watch the rerun after to get filled in. I'm still not quite sure what happened, but next week's episode looks insane.
I'm pretty curious to see how they get out of this as well.
It seems like if you're charged with armed robbery or something, there is no way out of jail time, and since I imagine that bail would be very high on gang members, it would be pretty unlikely that they could bail all of those guys out with their current money problems.

What were they going to be charged with stealing?
They'll get hit with weapons charges most like. Since the majority of them are already felons that can hurt quite enough.
I figure Gemma might finally fess up while Hale has the daughter in custody. With all their muscle in jail, the club won't be able to rashly retaliate. Tara probably has a rape kit stashed away somewhere. The van used for the carbomb looked to be the same as the one used by the blonde to trick Gemma.
Jax asked her if she ever heard from Hale was fucking priceless. And Jax walking to the garage alone gave me chills. Clever editing they did in the promo last week huh? Making it look like Tig had stabbed Juice.

Can't wait til next week.
I'm pretty sure it was
Kohn, not Kale, of whom Jax asked. He added something like "dangerous being a fed, huh?" to his question.

Those Nazis are gonna get torn apart.
Also, Bobby siding with Jax was pretty cool. I also have a strong suspicion that things are going to end very, very badly for Opie.

... OK
Seems so obvious once you say it. Just the fact that they were meeting had me somewhat confused.
And Gemma's description of Zobelle's daughter was perfect. Good rack indeed.

Maybe the 9ers intercede in an effort to help SAMCRO fight off the Aryans?
