See above. This corny rap is a very succinct summary of what you're getting into. Boy made out of rubber decides he wants to be king of the pirates, recruits a bunch of wacky people to fulfill his dream and help them accomplish their own dreams. Dreamy.
Sounds interesting. Where do I start?
The beginning is always a good place. If you're into anime, you can watch it on many free sites like hulu or onepieceofficial from the beginning to about episode thirty. They add new episodes every week or so. New episodes "air" every saturday night on onepieceofficial.com at around 10:00 Eastern. Fantastic.
If you're in more of a manga mood then you can head to your local bookstore or favorite online book site and buy them for a fair price, though the offical viz website does have a few of the chapters for free online.

Although that might just be because I don't think I've ever actually heard the Pirate Rap. Or at least not more than like 10 seconds before I turned it off in horror.

With regards to some of this week's events...
The general feeling up to this point is that the World Gov't would be largely felled during the current war, or at least suffer a major setback in terms of world control and battle power.
But given the recent reveal
"No, I think you mean 'Oh Croc, may I PLEASE serve under you?'"
And then BAM! hits 'em with a sandstorm.
Croc, you are the reigning badass in One Piece. Don't ever change.
Whichever one of those had "gyagyagyagya" as his laugh is my favorite laugh in the series. That arc also has a lot of manly Usopp tears.

You tend to enjoy the simplicity of the earlier episodes the further you get along the series, especially considering the heavyweight stuff we've been getting since Water 7.
Those episodes have an entirely different feel than the latter part of the Grand Line, in a more carefree, fun kind of way.
On another note, I think i'm gonna stay away from the net for a little while; I got a ton of shit I need to finish and extra work to get done on the side, and it's websites like this that eat away my time like nobody's business. After tonight i'm gonna do my best to be gone till next Tuesday.
