I just tried this one. It doesn't work, and the GameFAQs person apparently misunderstood something.
After you get the bartender to help in the fight the girl who takes over for him tells you that you can "help yourself" to the bartender's wares. Meaning that you get them for free. It's pretty much avoiding the RPG trope where you're there to defend the countryside but still have to pay MSRP for items. They actually avoid an exploit here by making the girl not buy back stuff. She also never restocks.
And yeah, I have DLC.
Part of the exploit said you had to leave the inn and sell to the blacksmith, and that when you went back to the inn she would be restocked.
She doesn't restock. I even sold my entire inventory to the blacksmith just to be sure. Was the GameFAQs guy on the console or PC? I'm on the PC, so it may be a console-only loophole.
It was on the 360 board, so I'll assume console. I'll hopefully be able to try this tonight.
I'm starting to notice that most of the weapons are massive compared to the characters.
I wonder if that's why all their hands are so big. Bioware decided that it would be easier to make all the characters hands really big rather than go back and adjust the size of all the weapons.
I mean, their hands are huge. Clearly they all have cancer...
Of the hands? /:|
If your hand is bigger than your face then you have cancer.... :winky:
You've never heard that before?

Anyone with the 360 version want to reassure me that it's still a good game? That the camera is still okay?
Yes, the game is good. Yes, the camera is fine.
Now, compared to what you can do on the PC version, the console camera leaves something to be desired.
But in truth, the camera is really not bad. The ability to zoom out a bit would be nice, but it's not game-breaking. Fights on the consoles aren't as massive as they are on PC, so the fact that you can't see as much of the battlefield isn't as big a deal.
Things can and do get a bit confused when you've got a roiling melee going - but then again, it's a fucking roiling melee.
Wait, so they toned down the fights on the consoles?
You won't find yourself outnumbered 4- or 5-to-1 from the get-go (seriously, ask ED! about his 19v4 fight) in the console version; for big fights the enemies will come in waves. This is because the console UI isn't quiet as robust as the PC version.

I'm not really sure you know how large actual medieval weapons are. The only ones that are oversized are really the 'daggers'.
When it comes to real medieval weapons, it's not the size as much as the weight that limits their usefulness. A proper European longsword can easily have a blade that's 90-100cm(about 3 feet) long, yet the whole sword would probably weight between 1-2kg, with most around 1.1-1.5kg(2.4-3.3lbs according to Google converter).
The blades of the swords do look a bit on the wide side though, and a little exaggerated. Some of those 'daggers' seem to me like they were meant to be comparable to scramax, which occasionally were quite large.

Come on.
The hilts on the one-handed swords are big enough for two hands, and they're half as thick as most characters' arms. All of the weapons are HUGE.
I gotta agree with Taranis here. I was talking to Alistair last night and I couldn't help but notice that the "one-handed"swords we both had strapped to our backs were freaking HUGE.

I played XBOX and PC. If you have the option - get the PC. If not, the XBOX is fine. As someone said - you wont know what youre missing; however having played both the PC is more than superior to the XBOX version. The streamlined UI is worth the swap.
Only do XBOX if you plan to do a full install of the game.

Don't you mean floating like 6 inches behind them? The freakish arms/hands and floating weapons are pretty ridiculous.
When you meet the King after the origin story, man thats guys sword is practically as long as he is tall.
Also this is actually getting pretty hard on hard now. Mostly because there doesn't seem to be much you can do to avoid taking huge damage in a fight with 9 bandits other than chug potions.

How much HHD space do you need to install it on the 360?

Is there a mod that makes the isometric camera like BG2 yet (EG: not restricted to 2 feet around your character). That's all I want.
I would never leave iso view if I had this mod

Also on the swords, all you guys know that "longsword" isn't just a fancy name, they really were VERY large weapons. I'll give you that the "daggers" in this game are OMG huge though.
The thing that irks me the most about the DLC guy in the camp is that you get the quest for the Warden's Keep stuff from him in your log if you talk to him, which just sits in there forever if you don't get the DLC.

I don't know honestly, maybe someone else here can chime in.
Not to be a dickhead, but I bought the big 100+ gig hard drive so I wouldn't have to worry about space, I delete a few games and demos I don't play when I get down to 50 gigs free or so.
The load times with a full install are almost nil. I have zero framerate issues, and no texture popping.

Axes etc. are a whole different matter.
Yes, longswords generally had a hand and a half at the very least.
The two handers in this game are more akin to Zweihander or Claymore.

this game is not a medieval fight simulator

Swords for everyone!
I can't speak for nude mods, but I know I'm going to attempt to fix the dagger bug.

"Dagger bug"? What's wrong with daggers?

2. We don't need a mod for what's already in the game!
