Okay, the most recent episode (which I finally caught) made me ask a question that I'm sure has been asked before:
Is Archer basically set in a universe where the 1980s had early 21st century technology commonplace? Like a widely developed variety of internet websites, etc?
Or is it just set in the 1980s in general?
It kind of throws me every so often. I do love how the KGB Lieutenant-General tries to brag to Archer's mother with various photographs of his apartment, and then remarks, "You know, the Soviet system really is quite unfair,"--and the hilarious irony of telling her that of all people.
Random info: The guest voice-actors were Ron Perlman (as the Cuban spy) and Thomas Lennon. Lennon I did recognize, but I didn't catch Perlman. It was nice work.

I think it's just a nonsensical mish-mash off eras.
I think I had the same response as everyone else..."OMIGOD IT IS STORMY!" screeched at myself in a grave tone.
And yeah, Clevinger, I have to say....I was convinced this show was doomed when I first saw the previews for it before the season began. I still think it is, difference is, I really enjoy it and wish it wasn't.

Yeah... Unfortunately the previews weren't really... fantastic.
edit: also one week until the episodes are on Hulu!
Crazy talk. Skorpio and Honeypot were both excellent, though I will give you that Honeypot had a couple of beats that felt a bit off.
It's not mind blowingly amazing, and I'd still rate Venture Brothers (when it's on) as better, but Archer really is pretty rock solid. I laugh consistently throughout, and (most) of the relationships and characters are honestly interesting and original twists on old ideas.
Archer filing an HR complaint against Sammy Gayvis Jr for touching his penis with his penis
Chekhov's gun reference after 'killing' the hooker (The hooker was voiced by Janice from Friends, btw) Like mah vagin

show's been pretty great so far. FX seems to be fairly serious about supporting it too, which is awesome.

Any word one when they should get the rest of the episodes? If they're going to be 4 or so weeks behind the actual show they might be shooting themselves in the foot- especially with the drop off that is already happening.

I don't know why but that cracked me up so much. I scared my cat away.

Ever.
This kind of sucks. Is this a shitty episode or a shitty show?
It goes up on Hulu in a couple days and then you can see if you hate the others as well.
Also terrible.
