MechWarrior 2 and all expansions and Ghost Burrs are so great. I really didn't love Mechwarrior 3 though. In-mission repair kind of ruined that game for me. Also somehow all the missions lacked the crazy creativeness of the MW2 games.
things you do in the MW2 games:
blow up a nuclear reactor
accidently float off a giant ice frigate in space
become a submarine
Also my manual told me that a maneuver all the cool pilots were doing was jumping on other mech's heads though I was never able to successfully do that.
And then I read the sort of 'mission statement' on IGN about what the devs are going for in the new game and I had to shut down due to overheating.

Death from Above was totally possible, just hard to manage. A collision of the bottom of one Mech's hitboxes with the top of another mech's hitboxes would result in damage to the cockpit of the second mech. Like all collision damage in mech 2, the amount was dependent on the size of the mechs and the speed at which they collided.

I remember doing Death from above a lot in Mechwarriors 3 and 4
They're great games, but they play like a lightweight military simulator, even though at first glace they seem kind of FPS-like. Maneuvering your Mech around takes a lot of getting used to, and it can feel really sluggish until you get the hang of torso twisting, using jump jets, setting up fire control systems, things like that.
I've been looking forward to this for so long. My MW4 CDs were destroyed and I never actually got to play the expansions, but everyone raved about Mercs.
Makes me want to try to get MW2 running again while the server is having a seizure.
MW2 was my first love. It was the first game I ever played that devoured me. I'd be at school thinking "oh man how many pulse lasers can I fit on this nova, how many heat sinks do I need". MW2 is responsible for my enduring love of dicking around in immersive fictional worlds.

God I know. Whoops I just jumpjet strafed off the giant icecube again.
I always tried to get back on it, even though I knew it was completely pointless and I should have just restarted as soon as I screwed up.
come here and let me kiss you on an orifice of your choosing
Takes place during the last part of the third succession war I think.
also does anyone remember this

Those were such good manuals.
I played 2 + expansions more than any of the other ones combined
I think you mean PPC
Oh no, my mechwarrior cred.
Such thunderous, meaty ramming
Could you even get a PPC on an Elemental? I think the weapon weighed more than the armor.
It just fell like the dropship Blackhammer.
Stone Rhino
man that thing was boss
When you created a custom loadout, the game saved it as a file in a directory, and the files could be hex-edit hacked to do all kinds of wacky things.
That and a single jump-jet were basically the only thing you could fit on it. One shot, and if you were at anything above 0 heat you would shut down.
I just want the site to be up!

I heard this song and I remembered which mission it was almost immediately, which was really weird
