Santa Claus needed the gems for a bit, and Lockjaw saved the world from Thanos with them.

Wait... santa? Also i remember lockjaw and the pet avengers, loved that series btw, hence my confusion... I mean do the individual illuminati members still have them? was pet avengers set outside of 'normal' time? or even in continuity?

Uh, like I said before the only thing the Illuminati could be fully blamed for is the Skrull invasion. Otherwise I'd say there track record is pretty good.

They sent Hulk off which resulted in WWH, probably the biggest Hulk devastation ever and near alien invasion.

    Then the Skrulls.

Then Civil War, even if they took sides in it.

The Civil War wasn't their fault. They didn't do anything to bring it on. WWH was directly their fault. The Secret Invasion, I don't see how they caused that.

I thought the Invasion was a result of the Skrulls losing everything, and needing a new world to live in, so they packed up everything and targeted Earth. It wasn't them going "Hey, fuck Reed Richards/Iron Man/Professor X, let's go take over that shit!" The Skrulls admitted that their home was gone, and they needed a new one.

Secret Invasion was the Illuminati's fault. World War Hulk was the Illuminati's fault. Civil War was caused by the SHRA which was set up principly by Tony Stark and Reed Richards (splitting up the Illuminati as they did so, and ignoring the advice of Black Panther and Dr Strange). They also alla have infinity gems which means inevitably that will come back to bite everyone in the ass.

WWH wasn't their fault. Hulk was actually happy on that alien planet until bug-boy blew up his wife. At the end of WWH, Hulk realized it wasn't really their fault. Otherwise, both he and Banner would still be gunning for them.

    Whatever happened to bug guy?

The illuminati basically caused the whole mess of disasters to befall the marvel universe over the last six years... Wanky bastards...

And Iron kinda already got a little whoopin' in what was it, Thor #2 or #3 from the new series? But i really hope they dont "BAM! Friends again!" the big three, wouldn't piss of enough people is they did.

And old man logan was amazing. Especially the final one shot.
A more interesting direction might be to basically keep the relationship between Stark and the people he screwed over basically businesslike, but not friendly. I mean, Stark and the pro-reg side threw super-heroes into a prison in the freakin' Negative Zone. His actions got Black Goliath killed. Hell, for a while Stark and company were on the same side as Osborn's Thunderbolts, who did such charming things as putting Jack Flagg in a wheelchair and biting off Steel Spider's arm. In real life, I can't imagine forgiving someone who betrayed you and so many of your friends. Maybe you'd be willing to work with them for the Greater Good. But becoming buddy-buddy again? Too much water under the bridge.

I think what you mean is has Tony apologised to Steve for breaking the constitution of the country which he has stood for his entire life, cloning one of his oldest friends and hunting down his comrades and throwing them in a jail situated in a reality where if you stay too long you go crazy.

That would be my personal grudge.

They changed it into being Mieks fault for some stupid reason so that the heroes weren't responsible, however indirectly, for genocide but regardless it was their ship and their generator which was capable of being manipulated to such ends and so they are responsible, however inadvertently for the destruction of most of Sakaar and the fact that Hulks 2nd son is on his way to fuck shit up because his mom is dead.

And yes, Stark in his role as avatar of the Pro-Reg is responsible for Black Goliaths death, the Thor clone, the initiative which killed MVP and had Armoury depowered then later the reptile chick, Komodo I think plus all the huige abuses that came about because of the lack of safeguards left in place when Stark failed.

And as has been said, the whole arresting Cap and getting him assassinated part.

And thats ignoring the fact hes a fucking superhero with an army of superheroes. A bullet shouldn't have gotten within 10 feet of Cap.

    that wasn't what he wanted

he should have just gotten to destroy new york city, humiliate all the heroes, get his revenge, and move on to gammaworld, and not be seen for a bit as he and the warbound adjusted to life on earth

They "changed" it to being Miek's fault because they understand that one of Hulk's major themes is misplaced aggression, and they have some basic sense of storytelling and drama.

and red she-hulk was even easier as there isn't really any other non-already hulked out female members in the hulk's supporting cast
